2018 Olympic Figure Skating Free Dance

I got an email from a student asking if I could hold off on collecting homework cause they wanna watch the ice dancing tonight. I admire the boldness of admitting they just want to watch TV and boy did they get lucky in finding just the right person to accept this excuse :)

So long as we allow federations to nominate their judges rather than it being centrally chosen by the an unbiased panel appointed by the ISU, nonsense like this will continue and the most biased judges will be nominated for Olympic judging spots.

I agree, but the ISU?? Unbiased????
:laugh2:

Wow that panel. No French judge.
I don't think P/C have a chance but whatever, V/M are worthy 2 time OGM and P/C are young and will have another shot.

Hoping for great skates from everyone tonight :yahoo:

This is so awesome!!!! Hahaha

I've always wondered why Chris didn't partner with his other sister Allison after Cathy retired. Allison's then-partnership ended at the same time.

Though I am glad to see Chris and Kana doing well. She's a lovely skater.
I really enjoyed their skate today :agree:.

Muramoto / Reed

Slightly off-sync in the twizzles but still well done (Level 4). Nice edging and smooth circular step (Level 3). Nice illusion out of the combo spin, could have a bit more speed (Level 4). Beautiful around-the-neck changes of position in the stationary lift. Smooth exit out of the spread eagle lift. Diagonal step sequence had good quantity of steps and nice lobes (Level 3). Great choreographic lift right to the end of the music.

"Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" Wonderful piece of music that I listen to in my spare time sometimes. I like the silence through the music that they were able to capture without ruining the moment. Their phrasing and edge security was better than their effort in the team event. It's nice to have program be set to a single piece of music with natural changes in tempos in the music that editing two together. Of course, it could be faster and have better body lines, but a strong performance from them today.
