I'm just. I'm just so mad. I'm so mad because you're world champion for two years and you miss one competition, and you're finished. You work on artistry, and they hand the same PCS to someone fresh out of juniors. It's infuriating. It's painful. It's sad.

IJS might have helped push the tech, but it's also stifled art.
I'm heartbroken. But I'm also furious.

There were many gorgeous programs in the last 2 groups .... but Zhenya's is by far the most beautiful, the most soulful, the most passionate.

Alina did great, but if artistry and performance can’t make up the difference in two performances that technical close, then skating is no longer an artistic sport. It’s just half-pipe on ice with sparkly costumes. This is the same thing that happened to gymnastics. I find it sad, but nothing that can be done if that’s how those in charge like it.

That what I am afraid of the most.

Though I wanted Alina to win as I like her Don Quixote, but I am so sad for Evgenia, and super happy for Kaetlyn! I am quite tired with such a mismatch of feelings.

Truthfully, Medvedeva Lutz was really bad here and should have been called an e. But she still should have received significantly more PCS. Like if Zagitova deserves 75 she should have been getting 82, perhaps. But the PCS gap... Hm. I just don't know.

So many of the greats never got the OGM..... Janet Lynn, Michelle Kwan, Mao Asada, etc. Evgenia has joined a club full of amazing skaters that have won the silver medal, and the lack of the gold isn't going to make a difference in how she is remembered.

TES is tiebreaker for short. PCS is tiebreaker for long.

Interestingly, if Evgenia put the 3F+3T and the 3Lz in the second half, that would have given her about 1.5 points extra in technical, enough to have won the gold medal.

Very happy for Katelyn and for Alina but terribly devastated for Med. I really wanted another podium with the veteran winning gold and at the end of that program I thought there was a chance that it was possible again. But I am so so proud for the ladies in this group. The 3rd flight was fall after fall after fall and this fourth group of champions showed why they ruled and delivered incredible performance after incredible performance. You would hardly have guessed that there was ever a rink monster on the prowl after that group.

I have to say, I'm so impressed with Nagasu's attitude. She missed her axel and knew what it would do to her placement, but she just has such great perspective, she knows it's not the end of the world.
