Chan just doesn't have anymore
Chan really does not look like he is ready or cares. I am sorry; he may want to say he wants to do things on his own terms ie his moves and coaching decision but it didn't work in Sochi and it hasn't worked at worlds for the last two season and he looks worse now. He chose to to do two programs - neither has been skated well at all this season and everyoen else is doing at least one repeat program to make it easier to emote and perform. He dummied or lowered his jumps and he still can't skate and the falls or mistakes ruin his artistry. That being said Keegan is far too great a risk for the long program (the only saving grace is the worst he can do is fifth). Chan is lucky everyone sucked tonight but really this is inexcusable and embarassing. I hoped hewould be read and surprise us but from the first practice I knew it. He's finished. he moved on. He will get an oly team medal but mentally he lost it. First he gave up on the quad sal. Then the Quad toe lost consistency and the triple axel is totally gone. He clearly was having issues and not training; we don't know what happened with Zueva - maybe he was intimidated by the next oly great one - Nathan Chen. Nathan will come back and at the very least win a medal.Chan is looking kind of like Elvis in his last olympics - washed up has been. I so didn't want to say it but clearly his practices suck. Canadian nats sucked. I so wanted to love his skating but i am so so disappointed. My fingers are crossed but realistically Chan is a disaster itis amazing he got third and Canada is still in the lead.
