I hate the team event, but I do think there is a way of approaching it. Look at it as getting the kinks out. It's either that or blow it off, do crappy, and step onto the individual ice with a crap performance under your belt. We haven't really had enough team events, this being only the second, to see how or if they affect the individual event for the skater. Non-fave skaters could also use it nail down some great performances and put some pressure on. For instance, I would have loved to see Adam Rippon come out and kill it in the team event. If for no other reason than if I hear the name "Nathan Chen" one more time I'm going to drive a spike into my ear. And I in no way blame Nathan for this. They REALLY need to lay off him.[/QUOTEu7HO8
Unlike Patrick who is a hot mess and unlikely to regain his dignity; Nathan will rise again and win a medal at the very least individually - maybe even gold. Yep, Nathan is all over the place and is a nice person. Though I saw one report saying his lack of personality whatever that means limits his marketing potential. But a gold medal fixes a lot.
