2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 1

"When one makes the mistake, it counts for both"

I forget who it was earlier this season that really eff'd up their score because one person did a 3-1 and the other did a 2-2 so they only got credit for a 2-1

Pretty sure that was the Knierims - He did the double-double, she did the 3-1

ETA: Just checked: It was their US Nationals free skate

Does anyone else think this event is lame? Why did they add it?

I really love the team event though I wish it was second so that countries would actually send their best. The whole atmosphere of the teams cheering, what it seems to bring out of the skaters (a lot of my favourite performances are from Team Trophy events), that we get to watch more Olympic FSing :p, the strategizing, how it helps develop areas for countries that traditionally only focus on some but not all FSing disciplines, ...

Hopefully they'll polish it up a bit more this upcoming quad and some of the criticisms will be addressed.

*bounces on chair like a hyperactive child*

This is a dreadful cover of all you need is love.

Quick question. What happens if two teams have the same total before the free programs? Do both advance or is there some sort of tiebreak?

Probably about as many times as they'll mention Tara's OGM during the ladies' event...

Yep. As soon as they started talking about how Alina is 15, Tom quickly said that she’s technically older than Tara was so Tara’s “record” won’t be beaten. :palmf:
