Visually it's nuts that that's going to lead, even though it makes sense in terms of how scoring works. I'm not sure what can be done about it. Quads have to be rewarded. They're just too difficult.

Beautiful and high 4T+3T! Wonderful second 4T to follow. 3A turned into a popped 2A with a foot down. Great 3Lz+1Lo+3S combo. Rough fall on the 3A but at least it looks rotated fully. Hands-down on the 3Lo. Well-centered camel spin in a classic position. Clean 3F+2T, was looking for a 3T possibly. Clean 2A right into a flying sit spin. Sensitive and strong Level 4 step sequence and a nicely centered combo spin to finish.

Still having trouble getting that 3A into his programs (one will be under-rotated), but that was one of his stronger free programs this season at the very least. He will get just about the same technical mark as Kolyada but his program components should be in the 9s.

Ok, far from perfect but an improvement. Even with the mistakes the fight was there and he got the job done well enough for the team event. I'm sure this was a relief for Patrick.

I just realized that Kolyada got around the same PCS as Adam for what they both put out tonight...that's just wrong.

Unfair! Adam should be ahead of Kolyada who had a messy skate. Adam should be farther ahead of Kolyada on PCS, but they're dinging him simply for not being a quadster. Plus the politics. U.S. is being kept down against Russia, similar to the fishy scoring in the dance event with the judges trying to equate the Shibs with messy B/S!

Patrick did not have a great skate either, but just because of his SS, veteran status and those macho quads I knew he would be put into first. But can we have some credit for clean beautiful skates please! U.S. got hosed in ladies too with faulty skates being placed above a clean skate.

Judges seriously SERIOUSLY need to revamp the rules so that messy quads are not able to be rewarded more points then clean triples. I would rather watch a program full of nothing but triples then one with messy quads. It’s just asine at this point

That's the problem I have with men's skating and it's basically why I hope the ladies don't push it with triple axels and quads...the consistency would go. At least, the ladies who win have consistent triple triple combinations.

Trying to explain to my family why these guys that fall are beating Adam. He thought Adam's was interesting and well skated. Why are those messy skates rewarded?

And that is why skating drive me crazy and why fan bases are shrinking.
