I loved it!!! It's nice to see skaters are human and she had such good humour about it. Reminds me about Wagner falling and laughing after finishing her program that one time.

Reminds me of Patrick falling off the team event podium in Pyeongchang (for the medal ceronony, not the one at the arena) after the team jumped onto the podium. He just can’t help himself, even when he wins something he still falls (he had a good laugh about it too) xD

Biggest and the mos pleasant surprise for me was Leona Hendrickx. 6th in FS!

That was awesome too.
She's really building up her skills.

Bradie got called for URs did she not? Satoko did not. I’m not even saying Bradie should be up there, but if she enjoyed the same inflation in PCS that the 6 ladies in that last group get, she very well could have been 3rd had Satokos been called as well. I think the point I’m trying to make is the top ladies (minus two) underperformed so badly they are lucky that with world spots on the line, their reputation carried them through and they weren’t passed by some lesser known, less polished skaters.

And even though I personally like Satoko so I’m fine with her getting the medal, I think the argument could be made for Caro that she deserved it since her short was the best of the bunch so is Satoko really the best pick for the bronze? It’s questionable but as her fan I’ll take it!

Bradie got called for UR on flip and 3T on her 2a/3T. she got no mercy from panel.

Do you guys think that a normal program distribution for Alina would have helped her? I really think it just exhaustion. Maybe she should have changed her layout for worlds...

It's gotta be particularly difficult to gather yourself and bounce back after falls with the jumps packed together so tightly. Yes, I do figure it was a combination of fatigue after Olympics and the program setup.

Zagitova's thunderous falls and desperate expression coupled with that triumphant music made for a truly macabre spectacle.

I hope she can use that devastating defeat as a fire to help and push her for years to come. [emoji813]

Real talk. She'll have another shot next season with Trusova being too young.

But it was such a painful reminder that her program is stellar but only when she lands everything. When she messes up, the whole thing falls apart. She is very fortunate to get essentially 70 PCS. At the beginning of the season a performance like that would barely clear 60.

I'm sure she will bounce back though.

Same here. She's got a lot of people who hate on her and to see their reactions would have been good as the Gold that Kaetlyn just watched.

I noticed on social media, certain people who often bash Osmond and mock her ("Skate Kaenada" etc.) are acknowledging the other medalists but are being SUUUUUUPER silent about Osmond's win.

I'm not a super fan of Kaetlyn but it makes me quite happy to see people who consistently bash her on social media just ignoring her because it irks them so much.

I was surprised by the result; didn’t really see it coming! I am so damn happy for Wakaba and Satoko! Wakaba for me has the best free skates. It’s such a delight to watch her skating even though it’s not perfect.

Hopefully this wont be the end for Zagitova and to change her focus from jumps to performance.

Well... i was a bit expecting to see Caro struggle, but Alina... :shocked:

All the Russian did so bad, i'm relieved to know that they manage to keep the 3rd spot...

At least i'm happy for the japanese, Wakaba's performance was, for me, the best of today.

WOW - ALL this praise for Bradie placing 4th in the free and 6th over all ( with some iffy calls I would add!), and people going on about look out for her next season... Yeah yeah yeah - I seem to remember the same type of comments about Karen when she placed 4th last year! And what has she done since!

ITs different. Bradie is way more consistent.

I think of this more like last year when Japan last three three spots. We were all devastated that they would only have two spots for the Olympics. Suddenly, Wakaba really improved, Satoko recovered, Kaori surged, and Mai also improved. Now Japan has a deeper field and three spots again. I can see the US mirroring that. All those years we had two spots we had one skater constantly bombing. I’m sure by this time next year we will have a deeper field that can challenge for those spots again.

I wonder if Alina was advised that the tech spec was watching edges and landings really carefully and to make sure her jumps were high and clean? Some of Alina's combos can be suspect. Eteri is pretty savy about what she says to her skaters but if Alina was listening to scores and wondering why her team mate Maria got dinged, that might have had an effect on her (Alina's) jumps. Just a theory.

Well Caro fans will always have the short program I am disappointed for her so much, but really the fact that she was in the conversation(thanks Ryan Bradley) at age thirty against girls who were literal babies when she was competing at her first Olympics is just amazing. We are still proud of you Carolina!!
