Haven't watched anything yet, but holy cow I'm so proud of Nathan for learning from the Olympics. After all the speculation that he would be leaving Raf, wonder if he will actually stay. They do work well together.

When Nathan tries to skate artistically, he really delivers on performance and skating skills - I'm guessing that wasn't the case today, but I think we will see more development from him next season in that regard.

Pleasantly surprised at how consistent Dima's 4Lz is. Kolyada just gets too much height and distance for his to be landable most of the time.

Isn't this the direction of the sport though? High number of successfully landed jumps esp. quads = high PCS scores.

If we're not comparing the two, Misha still deserves more PCS. He always gets lower PCS than he deserves

I know scores accros different competitions can't be compared but this one is still recent and I can't believe Nathan got such PCS. Some GOE might be generous as well but blame the judges after the splats we got.

Maybe it's something in the Milan water that is making the judges so GOE and PCS generous.

Or maybe the fabulous Val Marchei and her partner in pasta Ondrej H put the judges in such a good mood they want to give back the feeling.

I wouldn't sweat it too much.

You call the jumping excercise improving? He stripped that thing to the bone for jumps ... just like Nemesis, sigh. It started so well and then jumpjumpjump

It's horrible to me that those falls are worth more than for example, Dima popping his 4t to a 3t and getting 0 points. Falls should not be worth more than Zayaking...especially repeated falls.

There wasn't really an improvement in his skating. His skating skills are still lacking, his programs are empty, and his jumps are still a bit rough looking.

i prefer programs too where it's less obvious that the program was created just to score points by jumping (but who are we kidding, all programs are designed for points i guess), but still, you can't deny nathan worked so hard today esp after like...10+ falls from the people in group 4. he could have freaked out, and a mental breakdown too and fell 3-6 times (just like olympics) but he was the only one who kept it together. if that's not improvement in jumps + mental state (which is also super important, as evidenced by this free program by group 4) at least, i don't know what is.

I think he wanted on the record book of hopefully landing 6 quads in an event at world, because next year, the men only have 7 jump pass and it will make it very hard to do 6 quads then...

Great because if Nathan keeps landing 5 or 6 quads in comps he won't be able to make it to the next olys. How many injuries can a body take before it starts breaking.

I don't think he's improved with that program. Though his quads are impressive, his program is kind of empty. I guess that's why it fell flat to me.

Shoma may not be a second Yuzuru, but he clearly deserves the highest PCS in this group of men by far.

Oh well. At least this men's season is now over. And at least Nathan's win was deserved. I can't believe Boyang got -9 deduction because he was too relaxed going into this competition. I want to give him a kick in his butt and a hug at the same time.

I know it's futile to discuss, but how did Vincent end up getting 3 points higher in PCS than Boyang? What in the world -?

I believe it was five falls since he was given -9 in deductions. -1, -1, -2, -2, -3.

Looks like you're right. That would match Hanyu's head splitted performance.
