Just going through Insta at the moment and I'm not sure if this has been posted but it looks like Mikhail K has changed his SP? It's now Caruso rather than Nutcracker colour me intrigued!

Spartacus has given us some breathtaking costumes lately. Tuktik's lilac dress was a "mood" and, in my opinion, her best program dress ever. Same with Peter's costume and those intricate gold details

The way Trankov kept talking with Ignatov it sounded like Ignatov is replacing Aliev for Nebelhorn. Ignatov though kept correcting him that it’s not decided. I am confused.

I was so happy to see Samarin skating with so much confidence again. Liked that he picked Morpheus as his character Kondratyuk’s program is taking shape too. I think I actually liked Gumennik the most (though he obviously wasn’t clean). And, ouch, Danielian had a rougher start than I hoped for…

Free is going to be interesting.

First, russian men are becoming more interesting and I think the next 4 is going to be great

After the SP, I would say that:

1. Mark Kondratiuk and Kolyada --> I think both have the all package ... I think russia needs to send Mark to international meetings because he is a true choice for the olympic team .. and without GP .. the PCs won't magic appear in the olympics
2. Evgeni Semenenko --> good technician but I don't see a lot of PCs .. but if he don't fall that's half way to be on the team ( it's russia men's fall is in there middle name)
3. Samarin --> the same as Semenenko but with better PCs but after last season I really don't know
4. Ignatov anda Dima --> it can be good or bad, it depends on the day ... but both look like they don't have stamina for a long program
5. All the others .. I like Petr more but I think they are at the same level ( even if Artur did have a bad bad day)

And I would send Mark to Nebelhorn .. even if only to test him under pression

Oukey guys I just finished watching test skates and have some thoughts.

Mozalev,Gumennik - they have to step up, both technically and artistically. They both come across as not very polished.

Daniellan - great PCS wise, has great energy on the ice. Has 3 quads and if he can make them work he will be in the game for the Oly spot.

Samarin - he is not really developing presentation wise, but the program is hiding it quite well. Jumps were WOW.

Semenenko - again very solid, looks way more polished than last season and jumps landings look better as well. Good job Grandpa Mishin!

Ignatov, Aliev both have everything they need to be on top. But both programs seem too bland to me. Maybe a matter of time.

Kondratiuk - I think that you can love him or hate him and I am definitely in the first group.
He is insanely talented, his stage presence and musicality are impressive. Love his quickiness.
I wish they added some steps and t transitions in the first half of the program, there was a lot of gliding around. He can do better. I love that he is not halfassing and going for the combination in the sec half.

Kolyada - glad that he added the 4S but, is it worth taking out his consistent and always insanely GOEd 3Lutz?
He is also backloading the combination but he only jumped 2T? I hope that he will turn it into 3T in competition.
Also that program is doing nothing for him so far. Mikhail could skate in silence and it would be breathtaking, he needs something better I think.

Sad Dima wasn’t clean, but his program and performance is always top notch.
My dream is having both Misha and Dima at Olys. For 3rd spot, would prefer either Kondratyuk, Danielyan or Gumennik. Danielyan, when he’s on, is truly remarkable. He just got IT.

I also find Danielyan fascinating in the way he draws the eyes to his skating, but it felt that from all shorts of the day he was the least prepared to skate before the judges. Which kinda gutted me more than Mozalev not shining…

Fingers crossed, but Kondratyuk was messy and was mixing up his program, changing and making up stuff as he went. He definitely needs serious competition experience.

I was going to complain about russian men being inconsistent and all that but then I thought. All men are inconsistent, think about Shoma Uno or Vincent Zhou, even Yuzuru and Nathan have their moments.

Summing up:

Misha please bring Nureyev back! He is not conveing any emotion whatsoever. Glad he is adding the Sal tho, and can't wait to see him clean (ish) again.

Makar, I noticed that he breaths thru his mouth? I do this as well and my ortodontist says that it is because my teeth are set too close together in my jaw, and also I have problems getting enough air during workout.
Sorry for oversharing but I'm thinking that this might be his problem as well?

Aliev, beautiful presentation but such a freaking shame for the watered down content. Sadly no Nebelhorn for him.

Semenenko, this guy stays on his feet no matter what. He should learn to cope with problems along the program tho. I like the M&M for him and I'm fine with no costume changes.

Mark, i liked the program. And I actually like that he is reinventing stuff along the way. Good job.

I rewatched Andrei Mozalev just now and am relieved to find out that that travelling parody of a spin in the middle of his program in fact wasn't his sit spin but apparently a choreo element. Maybe it represents how dizzy Columbus felt at stormy sea?

Well, with Mozalev it always represents something. He is far from shallow. His commitment to choreography is rarely commented on, but he never has those empty waiting areas, when he rolls up his sleeves so to speak, spits on his palms and just backs into it with a tense expression of tsha, narod… wait, wait… gonna jump… wait… tsha! in his programs. Something always is on in his show. Honestly, I dunno why people criticize him artistically, because the guy sure talks the viewers through every second or every skate, no matter how many times he lands in an unfortunate way.
