an unexpected success for Mark! Apparently, motivation played a major role. Now he has excellent chances to become an Olympic champion. Since the days of Plushenko, none of the Russian men have succeeded in this yet.
Let’s breathe a bit and celebrate his good moment now. And please, let’s not place expectations he can’t carry yet.

I was talking about the team tournament, of course. And here Mark already exceeded the most optimistic expectations. And the result of Mark's efforts is obvious - the chances for the first place and the gold medal for the whole team, including himself, are extremely high.

(Kondratenko is canon, we know)
Little bit of immediate association

Not unexpected. This why they put him before Kolyada. Kondratyuk can compete and he is in his honeymoon phase of landing jumps. I told everyone he is going to be second in this comp, because either Kagiyama or Zhou would fall apart. My mom didn’t believe me, so I can’t wait to tell her ‘told you so’. It’s men’s skating. 🤷‍♀️

It has happened. Mark Kondratiuk is Olympic champion. Who would have thought that one year ago? I´m so happy for him.
Absolutely epic! And his success is a direct result of all the efforts of many years by all the other Russian men, the coaches, and, yes, the RusFed. This is far harder work than simply hoping for the coming of new Plushenko and they all deserve credit for perseverance that was embodied in Kondratyuk’s nail biting performances.

Good luck, smooth ice and clean skates to Zhenya, Andrei, and Mark for the SP! :cheer2:
My alarm clock is set and I am ready for this (not).
I have balloons, and I am making carbonara… judging by the recipe, it should put me into semi-comatose state about 16 minutes after ingestion. Which will permit viewing of man’s figure-skating. Like, I thought figure-skaters all subsisted on chicken breasts and shrimp-shell broth…how’s Mozalev even ended up in the same neighbourhood of pasta with bacon and cheese?

Mozalev said he eats it rather rarely, so... It's probably not that bad :ROFLMAO: And he also mentioned he liked bliny (crepes?) so you can try making them next! 🤣
