Countries that build such idiotic barriers should not be assigned to organize any int. sporting events, esp. when it comes to kids (I remind that it is still a question whether kids below the particular age should be even vaccinated by any anticovid vaccine no matter the producer or not).

Now I wonder how the IdF will look like if russian skaters won't be allowed to enter.

Senior GPs definitely look at risk as well as per these regulations, but from what I know somehow Mishin’s team was able to travel throughout Europe freely, so maybe there will be a way to make it happen. Perhaps Mishin’s team did mandatory quarantine though, and russians won’t be allowed on Idf

The senior GP might also be in danger, the US is working on a plan to only allow vaccinated individuals entry into country, the same plan Canada has for September. Sasha already mentioned that she does not want to get vaccinated, if it is a requirement she might not be able to go to Skate America and some might not be able to go to Skate Canada as well, as Sputnik is not an approved vaccine in Canada and might not be approved for the US as well. IdF might also be in danger if France does not lift its restrictions.

It would be simplier if every European competition could happen in Russia and everything that has to happen in other continents happens in Japan. These are the only countries which have the needed level of organization or simply the will to held real events.

Oh no, if this happens then JGP will lose a part of its international appeal for audience, and senior GP may end up resembling last year's GP somewhat. This doesn't end with Russian competitors, but I am afraid the Chinese will face similar problems. JGP/GP without China and Russia would be better than nothing, but still much less exciting for me to watch. And the FS world standings would become a joke.

Mishin's team entered France before the "red list" was created. But Nikita Mikhaylov was recently in Courchevel. Idk, if he had a quarantine.

The ISU had over a year to plan virtual competitions as a back up plan.. they really can only blame themselves.. it is not like scientists have said for over a year now that we will have to deal with this for a few years in the worst case scenario.

I still do not understand why it is possible to arrange the olympic games for 11 000 athletes who do not have to be vaccinated but it is impossible to arrange a small sporting event for about 100 kids. It is a question to ISU, you people had to count with that and had plenty of time to think about how to arrange those events and where without the danger of local restrictions. But I also have to ask why France was so eager to gain the second event after Canada when they already had to know this as well.

Like, why really do not find a place where all seven stages would be arranged without being intercepted by the local rules. It would be also easier to create one "bubble" instead of seven different bubbles.

Damn my stupid country x___x
I hope the restrictions are meant only for common/leisure travels and not business/international sports practice, that would be possible. International comps without the world top athletes allowed to compete just sounds meaningless and boring.

First JGPs can look quite strange without Russia and probably China and Japan as I remember decided not to send their skaters...

We will see russians skaters in others country more flexible than France. It s already fun to organize compétition with covid19.

No russian skaters on the first two events at France!

The russian skaters can't enter France without the vaccination. The point is that Russian vaccine is not approved in France. Such a pity.
Not only in France. Canada opened yesterday his frontier with US only for those who get completely vaccinated with a negative PCR the same next month for other countries.
The olympics are in six months and with the Delta I doubt China will let people enter without the vaccin.

Currently China is allowing foreigners without vaccines to enter China if they provide several tests and health certificates. They have to undergo a 14-day quarantine though. China is also approving Biontech soon.

I don't think we should worry about Olympics. This event isn't comparable to JGP. They're really going to hold this Olympics
