I know this is kind of random since we haven't seen her skate in months, but Kostornaia might be the most polished skater I have ever seen in my life, outside maybe ice dance. I was rewatching 2020 Rostelecom this morning, and I know some people didn't like the music choices for her, which is fair enough. But there isn't one moment in either program that her toes aren't pointed, her fingers beautifully placed, her edges deep and on soft knees, her posture perfect . Truly a once in a generation talent, at least.
She's probably my favorite skater this Olympic cycle, or at least the 2019-20 version of her. I felt like she regressed a lot under Plushenko, but I hope she can regain her previous best form. She still holds the world record for the SP and total combined score, so even without a quad she could compete for an Olympic spot as long as she gets the 3A back.

Many people didn't like her FS, but even just looking at her hands the whole of the first half is absolutely beautiful. Really, with the 3A it would have been stunning. Valieva as well is just fabulous with that. Thanks for sharing!

She got "q", but her quads are really huge, so it's a matter of improving position and rotation.

Guys, any news about the test skates in Saint Petersburg? I see that someone posted content of Men's FS but nothing about the ladies?

Ok, so St. Petersburg test skates. Once again, :thank: @AlexBreeze for finding the info in the first place!

Tuktamysheva - SP: 3A, 3Lz-3T, 3F, clean - FS: 3A-2T, 3A (three turn out), 3Lz-2A-SEQ, 3F, 2A-Eu-3S, 3Lz, 3Lo, clean, Liza is reportedly in excellent shape already, "the best skating of her career"

Samodurova - SP: 3Lz, 3F-3T, 2A, clean - FS: no detailed info, just that she skated competently with her usual set of jumps, maybe some edge issues

Dmitrieva - SP: 3A-3T (not more info about the other jumps) - FS: two 3As clean, high quality on all of her other jumps (no more details)

Guliakova - SP: 3A<< (fall), 3F-3T, 3Lz (clearly not in form yet) - FS: didn't try 3A, fall from 3F, some doubles in the second half

ah the dreaded 3Lz-2A has returned

Great from Liza! Now when is Mishin going to work on fixing this turn-out hitch. It's not just Liza, it's Kolyada too.

And nice job Samodurova.
