I took a look at the FP in Courchavel. Well, our girls (and the Japanese) were certainly missed. It's good for US and Canadian girls to feel what it is to be on the international podium. I hope it will give them motivational boost and, hopefully, performance boost as well. Winning with 181 is unusual, though. I can't remember when it last happenned. Fair selection criteria for the final are important then.
The shade...

Anyone have any ideas for what the plan is for JGP spots? Do you think they will keep the 9 girls already assigned to Slovakia and Russia? Because there are only 3 JGPs leftover, that leaves exactly 6 spots for the best girls to get their second JGP and ticket to the final. But I can't imagine them not giving Berestovskaia and Gorbacheva a chance. Will they prioritize giving everyone an opportunity to prove themselves this year over maximizing entries into the final?

So Puma now has Alina, Kamila. Also Maia and Daria have been involved but not sure if they are actual ambassadors. Nike has Anna. Adidas has Alexandra. That leaves just Alena. I know she has Guess but we havent really seen any proper endorsement. Would love to see Alena in a actual commercial and not just selling Plushenko toothpaste and that niche skating wear.

Why do you think she has Guess ? I don't follow her closely but from what i heard there is no contract
From what I know, Aliona often wears Guess clothing so her fans bombarded Guess for a sponsorship. Then in April, Guess tweeted about her. Since then, she has posted Guess hashtags. But l also haven’t heard anything official.

Here is the Guess Tweet:

Can I get her fans to bombard Guess and get me a sponsorship too? Granted, it will be an uphill climb since I’m old and way unathletic, but hey, it’s worth a shot right? Haha

Ive been really worried for Lyuba after we heard she didnt go to novogorsk training center with the rest and then she was sent to compete with novice skaters and not against juniors like Tittova and Alisa D are doing but seeing her do so well is so reassuring!

Her finally landing that lz-lo and doing it well is huge for her and her 2A is big too she posted last year a clip of herself jumping 3A in training so im assuming that might be also in the books for her this season.

I don't like Medvedeva, but this is very good interview by her. She seems honest, calm and informative in this one. Time has passed and even Zagitova fan like me must appreciate it. (y)

I like her very much. She ought to be hired to be a 'media relations' coach for athletes, she excells at at interviews. I think she will be a wonderful coach, but I could also see her rising in any organization, and some day I am sure she will be the head of the Russian Federation.

🤝(y). @katymay.. I agree with this post completely. And I think she could be a fantastic choreographer, too.

I believe that she was set to travel to Tokyo as an athlete ambassador for the Russian team, but couldn’t because of Covid and stuff.
