Ah, but Trusova should have won ;)
Her victory would ruin the female FS and leave a lot of skating ladies heavily injured.
Everyone would like to do multiple quads, resulting in many traumas.
The next OGP will be a multi-quad skater, but evolution is better than revolution (less casualties, good for business).

Last OGM was zero-quads and no trixel girl, and ISU'd hardly tolerated two-quads now. The five-quads would be disastrous for business. Like creating a fuel engine 50% less fuel consuming than the current generation. Better to sell 5% less consuming engines every few years.

The high bar is here to stay. The only reason a woman with only two quads won is because the women with three and five quads didn't hit all of theirs. Even with two quads, Anna needed to be perfect across two programs to win. It's hard to believe that only 10 years ago Carolina Kostner won Worlds with no lutz and a score that would have put her 12th in Beijing.

Does anyone know Veronica Peterimova's birth date? (She placed 2nd in the Russian Cup Final today.)

I know she's born in 2007, but not sure what month and day.

Thanks!

I absolutely loved Veronica Yametova’s free skate program 😍What a gem she is. I really hope she gets an international assignment somehow next year. Even if it is just a challenger event. She is someone who can score a SB in the top 24 and with new rules to bump up the age requirement, she has the potential to breakout for the years leading up to the Olympics. This is someone I hope keeps her free skate program for next year.

The Channel One Cup has been postponed (according to this) since as Worlds is 2 weeks after the original date of the Cup it makes sense to move it, it could unnecessarily tire a skater out, plus skaters might have to quarantine prior to going to France and Russian skaters might have to take unique flights given the political situation going on

Given what has now happened in football I see it being very unlikely Russian women will be able to participate at Worlds this year. So sad for them, at least they had the Olympics which is a good consolation, but from a figure skating perspective the effect on their careers starting from next season could be devastating...

Right decision or not I'm not going to comment as I'm conflicted.

sorry i doubt its because worlds is two weeks after, seeing the situation its. ore than highly likely that their will be no worlds for them as they dont get into the country, most countries in Europe do not want anyrussian athletes in their countries at the moment. .

Nathalie Pachalet, the president of the French Skating Federation has announced that no Russian or Belarusian athletes will be allowed in any French competitions in an email. Also I know this is political, but it is also directly related to this thread. Kamila, Anna, and Sasha will not be allowed at Worlds.
