M/K would never be allowed to go above B/K unless they have a catastrophic skate IMO. Unfortunate but it is what it is, especially in an Olympic year. So, T/M are the favorites to win here... and bronze/silver will be between M/K and B/K? I'm excited!
Hope to run into them and hand them out. I know it’s terrible.I'm sad I can't give my stuffed animals to anyone, what do I do? I have a stuffed octopus for Miura/Kihara...
The location should have no bearing on the score..Any of you who are rooting for R/K to take bronze, okay. I'm with the American teams all the way. This is Skate America, not NHK!
It's like with political scoring and 'in-the-bag' scoring. Clearly, the quality of the American teams is exciting, but this is the same-old, same-old dismissive attitude toward American pairs teams. And I'm tired of it, because it's been going on for far too long, even when for example, Evora/Ladwig outskated all 3 Canadian teams at the 2010 Olympics, they were kept behind all of them in the sp, and behind two of them in the fp. There are plenty of other examples. Now that the U.S. has teams with top-notch competitive qualities, they are still being treated like second-class citizens.Yup, the SBS spin were generously scored, but I guess it's like with B/K SBS jump....
Yeah, I could see it happening in real time. LOLProtocols are up: http://www.isuresults.com/results/s...------QUAL000100--_JudgesDetailsperSkater.pdf

Your opinion. Also, the three American teams? Ok.There's no way that R/K have the speed, power, maturity and quality elements of all three American teams. Yes, the American teams have to bring it, and they aren't allowed any mistakes whatsoever, and even then their scores will be managed, because this is an overly political sport.
Physically, the American teams are aesthetically more pleasing than B/K, but B/K obviously have overall better technique on jumps and throws, when they ace them.
lol the absolute gall of these judges to give M/K's SBS negative GOE but not B/K.Protocols are up: http://www.isuresults.com/results/s...------QUAL000100--_JudgesDetailsperSkater.pdf

I actually think anyone in the top 5 has chance to podium. Pair's LPs are notariously unpredictable. T/M and B/K have both been known to throw away big leads. We will see what happens! So, T/M are the favorites to win here... and bronze/silver will be between M/K and B/K? I'm excited!
Taylor Swift was the best. I’ve been waiting FOREVER for someone to skate to her music.haha... people complaining about the music... Fair enough... but comparatively, Hallelujah was probably the best piece of music so far LOL
Don't think it's a matter of throwing away big leads, but how many of those teams below 70s would be able to score in the high 130s? T/M and B/K every now and again do that, but not that often.I actually think anyone in the top 5 has chance to podium. Pair's LPs are notariously unpredictable. American politics in skating is NOT insignificant. If anything, it's much stronger than Japanese politics. It's like with political scoring and 'in-the-bag' scoring. Yep, all three American teams here are physically aesthetically more pleasing and a tad better matched too than B/K. Definitely my opinion. I call it like I see it. And I've been watching this sport for too many years to count. To each their own perception and understanding of this fraught and often disappointing sport.Your opinion. Also, the three American teams? Ok.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was delighted with a T Swift program haha.Taylor Swift was the best. I’ve been waiting FOREVER for someone to skate to her music.
for doing the PBPs, @Minz
And that in Skate America. If you wanna pick a fight about Japanese politics, at least choose the right continent.American politics in skating is NOT insignificant. If anything, it's much stronger than Japanese politics.
I actually think all the teams in the top 5 are capable of that. Is it likely they will score that, no. Is it possible, definitely.Don't think it's a matter of throwing away big leads, but how many of those teams below 70s would be able to score in the high 130s? T/M and B/K every now and again do that, but not that often.
The US judge actually gave the Japanese skaters their best scores. The Japanese judge actually gave C/J one of their best scores.Yeah, I could see it happening in real time. LOL
The judges are so predictable in the politics game.
