2021 Skate America: Women's Short Program

I'm going to try and do PBP's for the SP. I did them for the mens and pairs SP, and I'll try to get some time to watch/post live.

As Sasha is injured and doesn't want to water down her skates, she might withdraw. I hope she does - it's only the GP in an Olympic season. (And better to avoid whatever it is the men just did.)

I am really looking forward to the ladies competition (I have a hard time using the new term women for these lovely elegant ladies). It appears that, except for Trusova, everyone has similar capability and difficulty in their programs. So whoever can skate their best has a chance at the podium. I would certainly like everyone to skate to a high level and make the judges do a lot of work.

I hope Sasha is well enough to compete but I also hope that she and her coach make the best decision for her health. I am also hoping that the ice is good and that the rink monster has eaten enough men so that it does not need more nourishment from the women.

All the best to all the women for a great skate tomorrow!

I know right? My mom is old school and “woman” often carries a negative connotation (“that WOMAN” said through clenched teeth”) while lady carries a positive one (what a lovely lady).
