I've rarely if ever played, so here goes.
There is always one wildcard every year....Audrey Shin over Maxim Naumov.
Pairs
1. Alexa SCIMECA KNIERIM / Brandon FRAZIER - consistency, no expectations
2. Jessica CALALANG / Brian JOHNSON - consistency, more expectations
3. Ashley CAIN-GRIBBLE / Timothy LEDUC - known quantity, watch out for L/M
4. Audrey LU / Misha MITROFANOV - hungry, but pairs need more seasoning
5. Katie MCBEATH / Nathan BARTHOLOMAY
6. Olivia SERAFINI / Mervin TRAN - I really want Mervin to do better
7. Emily CHAN / Spencer Akira HOWE
8. Brynne MCISAAC / Mark SADUSKY
9. Laiken LOCKLEY / Keenan PROCHNOW
Ladies
1. Bradie TENNELL - tenacity
2. Mariah BELL - expectations are heavy, poor programs
3. Audrey SHIN - fresh talent that needs worlds experience in case she is 3rd one
4. Karen CHEN - close call, worlds experience, could move up if Shin falters
5. Alysa LIU - puberty slump, but don't write her off, transition year
6. Amber GLENN - triple axel, consistency?, programs not memorable for me
7. Hanna HARRELL - recovery year, still lots of talent, needs refining
8. Starr ANDREWS - polished, but not consistent enough, technical arsenal not high
9. Paige RYDBERG
Men
1. Nathan CHEN - who else?
2. Jason BROWN - international rep, he is going to land that quad one day
3. Vincent ZHOU - not quite the pcs or cleanliness of Jason, but reliably good
4. Tomoki HIWATASHI - talented, but sometimes erratic, needs to build consistency
5. Maxim NAUMOV - talented, on the rise, winners edge
6. Camden PULKINEN - talented, not clutch performer yet
7. Jimmy MA - charismatic,talented but inconsistent
8. Andrew TORGASHEV - talented, but inconsistent (could beat Ma)
9. Alexei KRASNOZHON - powerful but erratic, maybe he should think pairs?
Dance
1. Madison HUBBELL /Zachary DONOHUE - healthy, powerful, seem settled this year
2. Madison CHOCK /Evan BATES - injury/quarantine setbacks, need more time to peak
3. Kaitlin HAWAYEK /Jean-Luc BAKER - on the rise again, having choreo input really helped as does Kaitlin's music choices, both physiques seem a better match this year - Did JL bulk up or KH slim down or both - they look great and their programs are well thought out and well received by judges
4. Christina CARREIRA / Anthony PONOMARENKO - great talent, they seem stuck artistically, lack of citizenship may being hanging around their necks like an albatross- unfortunate withdrawal/ hope this is the last of their bad luck
5. Caroline GREEN / Michael PARSONS - still on way up, very talented. If C/P slip up, they could overtake them
6. Molly CESANEK / Yehor YEHOROV - consistency of training and partners counts here
7. Lorraine MCNAMARA / Anton SPIRIDONOV - not sure this is a good match. Both are talented, but don't seem to move as a single unit yet, too many errors and lost levels
8. Eva PATE / Logan BYE
9. Livvy SHILLING / Alexander PETROV
