2022 Olympics Team Event Day1: Rhythm Dance

Interesting that Hubbell and Donohue were skating forward while Sinitsina and Katsalapov were charging towards them skating backwards and Maddy and Zach didn’t appear intent on moving out of their way. Nikita was pissed!
And of course NBC trying to create a controversy.

Just able to watch a few of the Ice Dancers, but in mood and tone at least, Chinese Elvis brought it!🕺

I hope this isn't too controversial, but I wish that Gadbois's Asian teams skated less like the North American teams. If I want Canada, I can drive a day or two north and see the culture. But in an international sport, I would love to understand more about Japanese and Chinese culture by watching their skaters.

On NBC, they were showing a bit of contact during the warm-up between SinKats and Hub/Don. Nikita looked angry. I have to laugh. I don't like the way the Russians have been pushed up in the scoring, and all of a sudden SinKats is supposed to be better than North American teams. They are NOT. I don't care what the judges give SinKats. This type of push by Rusfed has spoiled my enjoyment of ice dance.

That's not about 'being better' that's about not being a jerk - the Americans were skating forward towards them, H/D should have moved. Considering Nikita's back, jerking, unexpected moves could tweak it - no issue from me with him giving H/D a dirty look.

It makes me laugh that people are put off by P&P's outfit. I find it's so typical them and only Piper & Paul can wear that and it makes sense. Love them!
I mean, those costumes are right on part with their Sgt. Pepper's Original Dance a long time ago.

i think the reason they go there is to improve technically, which then allows them to skate at a higher level...give them time to go back and create their own schools in asia... then, technique can be be applied to a different style.. you cannot ask Gadbois to teach a culture they have no idea about...
