Wow - This has been quite the post-event drama! The medallists' reactions were quite telling. Anna and Kaori further endeared themselves to me. They both seem like really kind, lovely girls. I love how joyous Kaori is (always, but especially here!), and I feel badly that Anna felt like she needed to stifle her celebration. Alexandra's reaction is very inappropriate. As others have said, it's fine that she's upset, but she needs to be respectful of the other skaters (and, let's be real, she was hugely gifted in PCS, so there should have been a wider gap between her and Anna).

She's been taught for years it's all about the quads and she just lost despite having 3 more quads, so its understandable that she is shocked. Still very poor sportsmanship by her, obviously.

Because she never won a senior gold medal. It’s always Scherbakova, Kostornaya or Valieva. I think she probably had that belief that if she lands all her quads, she’ll win. And the way the scores went, even if she landed 3A, she wouldn’t have won.

Kaori Sakamoto - such a strong point of view to this program. It is a counterpoint to the little girl programs in that it represents a mature woman. Kaori's more mature figure and strength makes it sing. I don't think any other skater could've made this program sing.
The fact that she is technically proficient and high quality without the biggest ticket items only adds to its value.

You missed a lot. I am truly glad I did not miss this. The level of drama. Even Eteri was probably scared of what Trusova might do next. She tried grabbing her in a hug, but Trusova was not to be contained. Dodge-Dodge-breaking out like out of failed pokeball catch-Dodge- and then subjecting others with lot of verbal accusations.So I have missed WWFS, apparently? I decided not to watch the Russian skaters, and as such missed a disaster skate from Kami, but now we have lots of tears backstage? Sasha and Kamila are both breaking down? What is going on?
Strangely Trusova has managed to distract me completely from the drug test positive of Valieva.

She is 17 and she has been working for it all her life, and this defo looked like a nervous breakdown.
She kept it together after Anna's scores and then after Kamilas skate it was too much.

Well, you've got a point. Bonaly too.
What I was trying to say is that all this pressure and drama it' s bound to take a toll. Skaters are always praised because they are "tough" and "wise beyond their years", and then suddenly they go back being the moody teenagers they are not allowed to be on a daily basis.

I am soooo happy for Anna! She has always been my champion and in my heart.
Super happy for Sasha, though it seems she wasn't?? But she had the skate of her life.
Super sad for Kamila. I did have a feeling that the build up for her was a bit too much and I suspected she might bomb at the Olympics. But after this week's event, I am proud of her that she would able to skate at all!!

hmmmmmm I can absolutely imagine myself trying to protect a distressed friend in a fragile place by causing a distraction... but do these skaters have that kind of comraderie?
I think she's talking about the other Team Eteri female stars - Alyona won the Euro in 2020, Scherbakova has a world title and an Olympic gold plus the Russian national titles, Kamila won the Euro recently, etc.

Also, shame on everyone who accuses her of throwing a tantrum. You should try training for 12 hours a day in that camp and endure what these girls endure. Now they're not even allowed to be human.
From what I heard her saying it was because she felt she deserved to win and she was mistreated or some such.
Yes she would have, she won the FS segment by about 2 points; had she landed the triple axel she would have won. She skated the way she wanted to but she needed to be flawless because the only highlight of her skating is her jumps.

Biggest justice would be if Kaori won but at least she medaled. She is my OGM.
