2022 U.S. Nationals: Senior Men's Free Skate

You know what else I would like (other than the team announcement thing)—tell us where Nats are going to be next year.

Also, recognize and thank the volunteers, who put themselves in harm‘s way just to help put on this event.
We know they are in San Jose and I’ve pledged to attend them if Gracie E Gold is there.

Too much information all over... Could someone tell me approximately when the last group will take the ice?

It’s all for TV. Normally they would have Romeo the DJ playing music and/or Rusty doing something stupid to eat up the time between the first group and the guys who will be on TV. Or Ice Desk, which at least is skating content, might be played on the Jumbotron. They did have a funny bit in Greensboro where Brian Boitano came to the FOFS in disguise and pretended to be a reporter. I think Jean Luc was the only one who recognized him. I usually read during all this.
The Tano bit at least was funny and skating related. I would have thought that only people interested in skating watching this on telly. If I'm a fan of C&W with no sports interest, I'm not tuning into the US championships.
Okay, listen up 1tv in Russia: I demand a concert by Leningrad at the next event!!!

As far as the in-arena entertainment goes, I can understand a nod to country music since they're in Nashville, and it's nice to get some local flavor and/or honor the traditions of the area. But this is waaay tooo much. You gotta know your audience, and I don't think there's a big overlap in the figure skating fans and country music fans demographic. Also, the entertainers should be high quality. Go for that rather than quantity please.
There will apparently be a lot of music at the gala, and that makes sense to me because the gala usually draws a local audience. My read from those around me is that the people here specifically for the skating do not care for the excessive music. What I really want to hear is the sound of the blades- I remember my first in person completion when I could really hear that, and it was magical.

High quality, and SHORT. One, two songs max each. Enough to give a nod to Nashville but not enough to aggravate people. I am fine with having a different artist sing the National Anthem each day, for example.

And Dolly. If you‘re going to do it, I want Dolly!

I can’t believe they are going ahead with the gala. Insanity
