They are always pro Russian in ice dance. Always.
In Ukrainian judges too, by the way. I'm sure, even now, Ukrainian judge would support Russian dancers the most.

So nice that I could watch the RD live for a change. My two cents:
- I loved Smart/Diaz, although they felt a bit crisper at Europeans. Her hair is absolutely stunning.
- G/F don't do it for me at all, neither their programs nor the visuals.
- S/B...well I have to admit what fascinates me most about this program is Bukin's ass in those pants.
Also, why didn'they go full BSB and instead added that horrible Justin Biber song. Embrace the terrible 90s!
- P/C. I'm not really into them, but their technique is really incredible. I don't like the music, but it worked with the choreography.
- C/B. They definitely win best costume ahead of Piper and Paul for me. The green nails on Madison's dress look fantastic and they have the most interesting lifts of them all. So sad they did not get more points.
- Piper and Paul...I just love them although it doesn't feel as if they've ever done this program 100% well. Also, I think the judges lowballed them a little.
- H/D. Again not a pair I care much for, but I thought they were better than S/K.
- S/K...ugh. Personal opinion of course, but their programs always look very boring to me compared to the other top teams' and this also applies to this RD. The choreo is pedestrian and the lifts are not very spectacular compared with what for example C/B are capable of. Them placing second here is my only real disappointment.

This is so close. PC should and will win. They should have a bigger lead imho. Yes, while they were kept too close after the RD in 2018 especially with the breast reveal they kind of re getting the same treatment now that they are in first. But I have to say there programs are getting a bit tired. Lucklily no one has the program this year. It happens sometime after a while things kind get stale. a lot of tems limp or go to the olympics and deserve the win usully but the programs are recycled tired or really not pieces of art. This year in all the disciplines actually including dance the programs are so so. Some are reused and some look like same program different music.
PC have great skills and a wonderful lilt that makes them special. Gabby has really improved too. They clearly are the faves. The battle for silver and bronze leans to both Americans in any order but clearly HD have the nod. SK with his glass back and unspectcular progrms could and contend but prone to big errors. Piper and Paul are my fave but they have the Canadian curse. One wonders how Weapo could never do better than 7th. I apprecite the Italians and Stepanova and Bukin almost seem to be waiting for retirements and get a world medal. In my mind let the medallists collect their oly medals and retire allowing the unlucky to get medals at worlds. PC probably will retire immediate after collecting gold. But the US will want a world title and go to worlds. SK may be too injured. Itis natural t want more greed ambition whatever. Scoring ws relatively fair. I hope though we dont see two US team on the podium too many other good teams deserving as well from Canada, Russia, even Italy. It almost like there is PC and the rest.

I asked the same thing and I believe I was told the ISU owns the copyrights to the regular box? NBC is using the box from US Nationals which in my mind is better than the traffic light one.
Actually, he was hugely complementary towards PC for the entire time. Both he and Tessa praised P/C to the skies. They were absolutely amazed at how well they did. He even said : have mercy on the other teams.

Right I forgot.Iknow they are the best and huge fans but they are a bit tired. I guess it is hard to go out with a bang and better than Kwan, Lipnskaya,Kostner,Sotnikova, Cohen, who all sort f faded out.

It's a bit greedy, how about G/P of Canada and H/D of USA make the podium?
There’s no way HD are that close to SK.. the speed, the attack, the attitude is simply not the same. They are a good pair but both American pairs look so slow in comparison with SK and PC. I have had a soft spot for PP for a while and I would also have Italians higher than Americans. HD and CB were at their best the previous Olympic cycle. I don’t know why it happened but HD definitely deserved that bronze in 2018. Technically they’re not bad, but back in 2018 they were on fire, hungry for the podium.

P/C - Technically superb, artistically innovative. Not their highlight clip but fantastic
S/K - Ticked the boxes technically-clever masks of weaknesses, typical slightly over-the-top artistry
H/D- Very sharp technically, Jacksonesque artistry which may have brought them down a bit with less emotion
C/B - Technically sound but a few blips, Eilish is tough to skate to with its subtle, moody nuances
S/B - Again, technically sound, good performance but not special for me
G/P - Too many little blips in the tech, performance never quite lived up to the bright orange costumes
G/F - Thought they deserved slightly higher tech scores, performance good but not their wheelhouse
FB/S- Too many tech slips, Nick is a little stiff in his performance - I think he is there to make Laurence happy
S/D - Thought they deserved slightly higher tech scores, Adrian seemed a little stiff, Olivia shined-would have put ahead of FB/S
F/G - So cute they seem to get a pass in some tech deductions, great personality on ice but didn't love this - would have behind H/B

I've been wondering that for years. But the music in the rink is usually in English as well - during ice resurfacing, for example. Does anyone know why?
