I cannot even begin to tell you how many problems I'm having just trying to type here today. Very frustrating.

Re: The Taschlers. I've watched them since Junior Days and thought they had wonderful potential. They're coming along nicely. They do have a slim but good chance of making the Free, so that would be a for me.

Who dropped out that only three teams aren't going through?

It kinda sucks how every ice dance is using English language pop songs. Because figure skating breeds such a air of xenophobia, skaters are too afraid to use songs that are out of what FS deem "normal." Karen Chen got criticized for using Butterfly concerto because her music sounded too "oriental" by some former ISU judge on TSL. I'm sure there are great and extremely popular Russian, Spanish etc pop songs. I would see to see skaters showcase music from their country. It would make it so much more interesting and diverse than the usual American/English pop song.

Yeah, I am always confused on why that is the case. Japan and Russia are majors powers in figure skating, so why is it still normally English language songs? Especially with K pop and anime being so popular right now in the US, sometimes more than English music and tv shows.

They are probably doing commentary for CBC television broadcast.

CBC live stream uses world feed with the world feed commentary team.

There was an announcement that they were but so far I've only really heard Belinda doing any technical commentary

My guess is Tessa and Scott will come in for the last two groups on CBC and not necessarily on the “full” livestream. When I looked it seemed like they were connected to the live Canadian feed which was showing ski jumping last time I checked.

Yes, top 20 goes to the FD.
So Tashlers should be safe given Lithuanians will surely be behind.

One argument about the usual pop song may be that are known world wide, so they may be chosen to get crowd in various countries behind the skaters more easily. And many people understand english lyrics.

Thankfully, Tanith Belbin White commentates ice dance instead of Tara, so at least half of the annoyance factor is removed.

They've switched to jumping during the resurfacing, but hopefully they won't cut any teams

Peacock's page for the livestream has a picture of only H/D and says "Watch Hubbell and Donohue in the RD." That's interesting to me since C/B are the current US champions. Wonder why?
