And even with 8th and 9th in PCSs and jumping ability that far exceeded what the current gen of Russian women can put across two programs Trusova had a hard time winning. Her bronze was a result of Kihira's meltdown skate. Her silver in Olympics was earned by a barrage of jumps that won't be matched again. And that was when Russian officials, judges and techs were sitting in the panels. Qualifying the officials will take time after the ban is removed. Until then, Russian women will likely to see 5s and 6s in their PCS sheets.

Trusova her entire career only lost to Russian women with quads or 3A. And when she was losing, it wasn't because of PCS but because of the few points she was losing on jumps. She only needed to be clean. So it isn't like despite doing all of that she was losing to anybody.

And people talk about her olympic free skate as if she was absolutely clean and still lost, while she made many tiny mistakes and got calls. The solo 4lz without the "q" she got and scored with mostly 4s and 3s GOEs would have been enough to win olys gold. Judges could have given Trusova 55 PCS, She still would have won if her entire layout was clean.

It would have been good to see her perform even though under these rules there was almost no chance of a medal. This a tournament for the female juniors and Petrosian.

It would have been a good opportunity to work towards restoring the 4T in a competition environment, but after that heavy fall in the warm up of the Kazan stage attempting the 4T when she wasn't 100% ready (came straight out of those hearings she has to attend and went to Kazan) which shook her up, this isn't the worst thing having her sit out. It wouldn't surprise me if she's been nursing some kind of injury since March last year. The skating changed from late December 2022 to early March 2023. Let's not discount the psychological toll and inevitable cyberbullying that awaits this child in the next four weeks this could be weighing on her as well.

It's great to see the Tutberitze camp putting the athletes welfare first once again.

Valieva has some how survived one of the most abrupt periods of growth 15-17 that any top female skater has dealt with while maintaining many of her jumps. It's unheard of. I mean this in the best way, but she probably has the most suboptimal physique for figure skating now let alone jumping quads. She's in great shape and a great athlete, but it's a sport made for females like Petrosian, Muraviova, Bazyluk. The physics of rotating multiple times in the air favour this body shape. Even the top skaters well into their 20's or even their 30's are almost devoid of any secondary characteristics, of course there are exceptions but this is the general rule. Again, this is just an observation and is not a criticism of anyone in anyway.

Akatieva by the time she is competing again will have been out of competition 18 months, she will have grown in this time. The odds are against her, much like once Shcherbakova and Trusova grew their careers were over.

I think Petrosian has a growth spurt it will be over for her as well. The jumps are low as it is. When I say over, I mean in Russia competing for medals. Of course, anywhere else in the world they could skate for another 5 years and compete for big medals.



Maybe you misunderstand me. I'm saying Samodelkina will compete for Olympic gold.

Valieva didnt "survive" anything yet. She landed zero ultra-C this season. You mentioned she beat muravieva when muravieva had a total meltdown but ignored that valieva herself placed 4th when she took a melt down. She hasnt skated FS clean once and had cardio problems all season. Its not a good season for her at all. Can she come out on the other end? I dont know, maybe, I'm not saying anything against her. But she hasnt proven anything. Meanwhile Akateva visibly hasnt changed at all, and Petrosian's mother and grandmother are both just as small as she is.

The point is nobody has proven anything, but you treat Valieva like she cant fail and treat the rest like trash who are just replaceable pawns. Its inarticulably frustrating. Im not betting against Valieva, she has had lots of trouble this season and she could overcome those in the future but she hasnt. And neither have Akateva or Petrosian failed. Your prognoses are so bias.

And I dont know what you're responding about Samodelkina for, I quoted someone else in regards to that.

Averbukh confirmed today [1], she will participate in his show at January, 27th (yes, this year ). As far as I understood it's a live show and not a recording still recorded. Let's wait and see. I assume, if Kamila would seriously be injured, he wouldn't confirm.
Maybe she's just sick or has a minor injury that will prevent her from competing but not doing a show.
Anyways, I hope she will get well very soon.
