If it is not a qualifying event, then how come Viktoria Morozova is on the Jr National reserve team? Placing 11th at Jr Nats and 7th at older age novice nationals would not be considered as success (1-8 at Jr Nats for Jr National team; 1-6 at Older age Novice Nats for Novice national team), and so her 5th place finish at the Jr Russian Cup final shouldn't be worth anything.
This is the topic of men's singles in Russia, I would not like to continue discussing women. As for Victoria, 7th at older age novice nationals is sufficient reason to be included in the junior national team reserve.

Unfortunately, I don't see the official order, so I can't say on what grounds she was included in the reserve, usually the reason is stated.
The status of the Russian Grand Prix Final is too vague, it is definitely not included as a qualifying event. I mean, if that's all you have, it's too little for the national team. Adults have had situations where they have been credited for Grand Prix Finals, but I don't remember that case for juniors.

I went back and checked the original document. @Mariott is right, only results at junior and novice nats are given as grounds for inclusion into the junior team. However, neither Loginov nor Morozova (is this girl a junior or novice?) are listed in the original document which leads me to believe that they were possibly added later by decision of the coaching council (or I just missed them, the writing on my phone is tiny).

Eta: sorry, just realized it's a private account that posted the pdfs. :palmf:

You're absolutely right. The main list of the national team is formed strictly in accordance with the sports results at qualifying competitions. The reserve is formed by the decision of the coaching council, but as a rule, it also includes athletes according to the results of the same competitions, 7-8 places of the junior championship and senior novices championship or 1-3 places of the Spartakiada and Memorial Zhuk (for the youngest). This principle was followed this year as well. It was also possible to take into account the results of the FGP(R), but apparently this was not the main argument.

I really wanted Semion to be included to the national team after that performance in the final but I didn't have much hope. Nationals have always been the main criteria. Skaters who bomb Nationals are usually not included. Same happened to Popov.

Semion is on the SPb team. Artur is still listed as his coach.

Andrei Mozalev - about new programs:

- Who helped you with the programs for the next season?

- Our choreographers Denis Lunin and Igor Koscheev helped us to the programs. Igor mainly deals with hands, and with Denis we work on sliding, ligaments, paths, the main line of choreography. I was also actively involved in the productions. Both programs are our joint, team work. This year we did not involve outside choreographers.
The programs of the new season for Andrei Mozalev were worked on by his regular choreographers Denis Lunin and Igor Kascheev. A very interesting spectacle awaits us, according to the program's legend

I can't believe I missed the Junior Test skates! Where does the time go?

Anyway I'll need to catch up and see how Nikita S's getting on.

I wonder if Big Bro Kirill S will show up at the Senior Test skates, probably not since he didn't do so well last season 😔

Hope he still shows up at a Russian Cup Event or something though!

Dikidzhi and Soloviov appeared at SPb test skates.

Okay, short and messy write up about the test skates:

Shorts:
Mozalev mozaleving, Samarin with obligatory fall but rockin', ordinary Tango program doesn't seem the best choice for Vetlugin, Gumennik is left without a new short, Lutfullin lightfooted dancer with generic program, Kondratiuk I didn't see, Fedorov with a terrible program, Semenenko very strong with a great program and a very literal clown on his shirt, Ignatov has one of his off-days, Kovalev surprisingly strong but program not my taste, Yablokov's suspenders try to ruin everything again, Aliev's shirt is very transparent and it bothers me.

Frees:
Fedorov with a much better but very weird program, not sure if he's just overwhelmed by everything. Baila morena okay, cheesy guilty pleasure, but what does it have to do with anything? The first song was nice though. Jumps terrible, impressive how he continued on and still delivered performancewise afterwards.
Gumennik: I liked the program much more than I would have thought, the choreo is quite intriguing in a quiet way and he interpreted the whole time, really very nice. What was up with his spins, though? And why doesn't he look like Dorian Gray but like a vampire?
Yablokov with certain jumping issues, but very strong in performance with an entertaining program which he can now show in the best light.
Vetlugin for me the new Kolyada in terms of skating, wonderful to watch, but I don't like the program much and the outfit, nope.
Semenenko very secure in jumping, except for a 4Lo which I think will be critical in his hunt for the title. Program not too bad but could be better, very Richaud with voice overs and mid-program stand still, nice outfit
Ignatov with a mostly-on-day but fading in the second half again, looking much better than his photo again, program consists mostly of two footed skating
Lutfullin with a very light, soft program (and lovely shirt), almost really beautiful, but ambitious jump layout and jumps not there today and why did they have to destroy everything with the two late music cuts and why does he almost strangle himself in the end, that's not necessary
Mozalev mozaleving again and although I like My Body is a Cage myself a lot I'm starting to think he needs a therapist. love the step sequence
Samarin goes full Samarin again with robot-program, Samarin-costume, obligatory fall, embracing his body stiffness and entertainer personality and selling the most out of his robot program. Both of his performances give the impression he's found his niche, doesn't want to change anymore, just loves what he's doing at this point and not feeling the pressure but just enjoying he's still there and performing for the crowd
so weird to see Kondratiuk doing the ode to joy, he's ignoring the trivia, program rather conservative for his standards, but his jumping looks like he's going to be a very strong contender
Kovalev in shiny but not exactly new costume has a program that has a very warhorsey feeling to it, but he fills the pathos well with his impressive (by single male skaters standards) stature
Aliev again not with a great outfit, but that's okay since he delivered the best entry dance. The program is a bore, but Aliev moves still smooth like melting butter.

Why are they all running so much on the ice this season, where are they running?

Costume rating: 1 Lutfullin's free, 2 Semenenko's free, 3 Ignatov's free
Program rating: 1 Mozalev's free, 2 Semenenko's short, 3 Gummenik's free

Everything else, who's the best male skater in the country, seems impossible to say at this point. Kondratiuk seems very strong again, though.

Vetlugin for me the new Kolyada in terms of skating, wonderful to watch, but I don't like the program much and the outfit, nope.
I think he just wore his SP costume and rolled up the sleeves? 🤔
He smiles a lot more than Kolyada though. Love Misha but he was more the type to express through body movement rather than facial expressions.

Mozalev mozaleving again and although I like My Body is a Cage myself a lot I'm starting to think he needs a therapist.
I guess this is a return to form then, he's specialised in depicting midlife crisis characters since juniors 😆

my not so baby boy Petya of course! and Sasha, hands down    (sorry, i have to say this, i sold my soul to his shirts)

they have to be related, no one can't talk me out of this

With no international competitions I think it's really good they have such strong inner competition.
Where would anyone take the motivation from if it was just one guy sure to run away with it all?
And I love that they all seem to have (found?) their own niche and style, they are all such distinctive characters...
Overall I'm very content with the programs this season again 😄 even if I'm calling some a bore and such, but that's just because I'm a critical, subjective, grumpy person who's always looking for faults. Real efforts were made, there's not much truely generic stuff.

Basically I can see almost each of them winning the national title if they are on their day and the others aren't.

My feeling is that Kondratiuk is (the chosen one and also) fit again and in that case I expect him to be one of the biggest favourites, but I'm also giving Gumennik a very, very good chance... although my personal support goes to Semenenko 🤩 who also looks like he'll be very strong again and justified the constancy talks again. Those 3 are the ones my instincts would bet on... but Yablokov looks like a wild card who could easily rise to top as well, and Aliev basically just needs to hit all his jumps... which doesn't seem very likely but very possible. Those are my very amateur impressions.
Oh, it's just very exciting. 😍

that's what i love about them too

i agree. with all of your point

isn't this the case always? when you play the RusNats predictions game you get a headache because anyone from 1 to 15 could end up on that podium
