2023 JGP Budapest Women's Free Skate

Ted says this is a confidence issue and that he has faith in her.
The thing is, confidence issues have to come from somewhere. In teens her age, it often comes from a changing body or from an incomplete/late recovery from injuries or illnesses, which limit the number of run-throughs a skater can do. Whatever it is, I'm not sure having this difficult time shown to the World in her first big international competition is going to be helpful for her self-esteem.

agreed, I hope she has good support.

Not a particularly good skate for Anastasija, she seemed a bit tired toward the second half but she tried to fight through it. She will have better skates :console:

Inga GURGENIDZE GEO in white, silver and red dress skates to a variety of music:
Mephisto's Lullaby by Yair Albeg and Or Kribos
Breathing Under Water by Ghostwriter
Dissociative Identity Disorder by Ghostwriter

No 3A today, going for a clean skate with a variety of very clean, speedy triples. Very nice spins and interpretation hitting nice accents in this voidy music. 3LZ- REP.

No 3A attempt and no backloaded combos (and apparently no contingency plan for a Lutz fall either). Very close to clean, but not quite able to do it today :console:

confidence comes from experience... and that doesn't happen when Skate Canada doesn't send our athletes out. The amount of talent there is right now in junior women : never seen that before... yet non of these women are able to deliver on the international scene. Just the strategy with only 6 spots this year on JPG : Skate Canada decided to spread the wealth and send 6 different skaters... Not a bad idea on paper, but many skaters do better on their second assignment. They get their groove. Impossible to do when you only get one outing.

Maybe not the skate she wanted or is capable of, but not too bad either. She seems pretty calm and collected in the K&C 💜

Gian-Quen ISAACS RSA in royal purple with silver trim. very nice posture. A bit short on the first few jumps, but a very nice presence to Horizon of Memories and Afterlight. I think Ted is right about pushing that free leg back hard, that would help her a lot today.
