2023 South Korean Figure Skating Ranking Competition

She basically cried 😭 the entire time, after she finished her skate.

Also, I think she didn’t even qualify to the free skate. So disappointing
She injured herself at mornibg practice, it was doubted that she'd even skate. I don't think anybody can be disappointed in her.

MY BELOVED DID THE THING
Yes. Wi was fantastic!!

However, I have no faith in her free skate.

Seojin was so fantastic. But, I’m sure she ur her jumps.

Yuseong was clean, like always. She is so basic though. Low jumps with very little flow. But, she will move up with the free skate.

I’m nervous for the last group. 3 Senior Women versus 3 Junior Girls

I’m disappointed. She had a higher SB than Wi and You. I was hoping she could prove herself to maybe nab a GP spot for next year.

Look... maybe it's because I'm a jaded biased fangirl but your comments feel very judgemental. Can't you appreciate what you see and just end it at that?

Im sorry I might just have too high expectations. But, the Korean skaters just don’t seem to be very strong at this event. I’m happy for Wi. Seojin is my fave probably (amazing skating skills); Minchae - I’m just letting out my frustrations with my vent, as I really wanted her to do well. I always felt she was underscored in previous seasons.

Okay. Time for C. Kim and Haein Lee and Minsol to turn things around. Let’s go!

Are we watching the same thing? Because I don't think so

Yujae - Improved artistry. I like her program much more than her sister. Watch out fir her in the free skate. My dark horse pick for a medal.

Minsol - love her performance. I always think she is underscored. Maybe, her skating skills aren’t as good and I don’t notice because she just draws me into her performance.

Yelim - Someone needs to help her with that opening combo. She waits so long to set up. Even if she didn’t pop, she would have crashed into the boards again. I don’t think she is ready for 4CC. Hoping Wi gets that spot instead.

Haein - Still my favourite program. If only she rotates her jumps. But, this is not a bad result for her. She is doing enough to qualify for 4CC.

Jia Shin - The class of this event. Her triple triple is the most solid one from Korea. Fall after a spin. Reminds me of her fall at Junior Worlds last year. She should have no problems winning this event.

C. Kim - Besides the triple triple mistake, she was solid. I love her so much. Second place was a bit of a gift. But, I won’t complain, cause I think she is the biggest hope for Senior Korean Ladies to keep three spots, this year.

I think it will be Shin, C. Kim and then one of the Kim sisters into the podium.

Are the Kim sisters not allowed to go for 3A in the SP? Maybe, they just didn’t want to risk it.

Don’t kill me. This is just constructive criticism. But, I think the level was much higher last year. Not sure if it has to do as to when the Korean federation places these events. I’m excited for the free skates tmrw. Can’t wait to watch Cha and the top females.

Constructive criticism? Maybe, again, it's because I am a jaded, biased, and currently tired fangirl, but your words don't feel like you respect the time, effort, and work the skaters put in. It feels like you just look at a screen, judge the bits you like/dislike, and say it's constructive criticism. Like, if you're providing constructive criticism where is the solution to these problems? If you say to someone that they have bad breath and leave it at that, that's just being mean. Constructive criticism would include ways to better the breath issue, I think.

I'm so happy Jaekun is finding success! I'm so sad Jun, Sihyeong, Minchae, and likely many other skaters are competing injured. KSU needs to fix their operating model quickly, or else they are going to drive their best skaters to exhaustion and further injury. I also feel for Haein and Yelim, they are both late-season peaking skaters and having to compete so soon after a rough GP series can't be helping.

This event about wiped me out but I am recovering about noon Spokane time. Its a blessing to be ignorant and just appreciate what these skaters can do...and their great music choices. I am not sure who is skating injured and who is suffering from self doubt (my particular specialty) or who is under the weather or who is just getting burned out. But I will tell you this. I love them all and admire them no matter what their placement and you wont see me throwing the first stone at any of them. Best wishes to all of them tonight Spokane time. I will be watching. I appreciate what you have had to go through to get to this point.❤️
