2023 World Figure Skating Championships Women's Free Skate

Ah shame about the fall and whatever that axel attempt was :console: with such a strong performance from the girls before her I guess its safe to say the 2nd Georgia spot is gone, not that they really need it next season:(

The lack of stamina of Rukavitsin skaters is really hurting her here.

I'm not a fan of making facial expressions a point of judging anyway. It's a sport after all and everything should be expressed through the movement in the first place. :)
Facial expressions are definitely an important way to express a program, but they are also only a small part of artistry and judging.

As with anything, facial expression can also soon end up being too much (or the unfortunate, usually unfitting "pageant smile"), but a solid, individual balance is possible. Some skaters look more natural with a more "theatrical" expression, some with a more understated expression, it's all individual.

Anastasia's programme started so well - that opening 3Lz-3T fairly flew. Such a pity about the fall on the 3F-3T, and the popped axel; after that she seemed to lose a lot of energy, whether disappointment or pain from the fall, I don't know, but she wasn't expressing the choreography as fully as before. She does have lovely spins, and there is a tranquility to the way she skates that I really appreciate.
