Glad you enjoyed it! I know there are people who do enjoy Chaplin programs, because skaters keep on doing them; it’s just a personal preference.I just watched Pate/Bye skate to Charlie Chaplin live at Lake Placid. It is a very sweet program and they play along with the music very nicely.
Some skaters can skate to a wide variety of music types, others are motivated only by specific kinds. My partner and I were competing long before the vocal music rule change, but we could only get into classical music and scores from films and Broadway shows. Instrumental versions of popular songs didn't work for us, nor, even within our classical preference, did ballet scores although we used several operas at times. Whatever picks you up and carries you across the ice .It's kind of funny that everyone groans as much at Leona picking another night club tune as when Isabeau goes for another swan. The two should trade their choices mid-season, see what happens.
may the force be with my girlJanna Jyrkinen, senior women, FIN:

more and more and more feathersGet the warhorses out of your system before the Olympic season, Isabeau
(But honestly very excited to see what costumes she will have for this)
At this rate, if I am a betting person I would have money on Isabeau doing Firebird for the Olympic season (which is a great music choice, and also adds to her menagerie of birds).more and more and more feathers
Then she can pivot to doves. Lots to chose from in doves. At this rate, if I am a betting person I would have money on Isabeau doing Firebird for the Olympic season (which is a great music choice, and also adds to her menagerie of birds).
Or (the imagination is running wild) combine both loves and use Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours from La Gioconda, the music for the pink-tutued flamingo ballerinas in Disney's Fantasia. At this rate, if I am a betting person I would have money on Isabeau doing Firebird for the Olympic season (which is a great music choice, and also adds to her menagerie of birds).
I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking just how many there are... on the other hand, let us be grateful they are a range of warhorses. Remember the year where every third skater did the same one???finally caught up with this thread. at one point, I thought I was in the split and retirement thread because i was so depressed while reading it.. and nope... i was just in the Isabeau and Loena skate to the same program every year thread... So. Many. War. H.O.R.S.E.S
Now you're making me think of Isabeau in pretty pink dresses a la Ariana Grande as Glinda in the new Wicked movie for the flamingo program and I'm very much not opposed to that thoughtOr (the imagination is running wild) combine both loves and use Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours from La Gioconda, the music for the pink-tutued flamingo ballerinas in Disney's Fantasia.
like every year LOL...I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking just how many there are... on the other hand, let us be grateful they are a range of warhorses. Remember the year where every third skater did the same one???
The POTO year was special though, even Kurt Browning had a dig about itlike every year LOL...
