2024-25 Programs by Discipline

I just watched Pate/Bye skate to Charlie Chaplin live at Lake Placid. It is a very sweet program and they play along with the music very nicely.
Glad you enjoyed it! I know there are people who do enjoy Chaplin programs, because skaters keep on doing them; it’s just a personal preference.

Please share your impressions of the other competitors in the competition thread, we are all waiting to hear!

It's kind of funny that everyone groans as much at Leona picking another night club tune as when Isabeau goes for another swan. The two should trade their choices mid-season, see what happens.
Some skaters can skate to a wide variety of music types, others are motivated only by specific kinds. My partner and I were competing long before the vocal music rule change, but we could only get into classical music and scores from films and Broadway shows. Instrumental versions of popular songs didn't work for us, nor, even within our classical preference, did ballet scores although we used several operas at times. Whatever picks you up and carries you across the ice .

Iida Karhunen, FIN
(junior women) has confirmed SP is the same as last season according to an article on local feds homepage:

Le Jazz Hot (from Victor/Victoria musical) by Julie Andrews, Leslie Bricusse, Henry Mancini choreo by Adam Solya

She has not confirmed more about her FS and it is not put on ISU bios yet, but it is classical music and choreo is also by Adam Solya, according to that article.

At this rate, if I am a betting person I would have money on Isabeau doing Firebird for the Olympic season (which is a great music choice, and also adds to her menagerie of birds).
Then she can pivot to doves. Lots to chose from in doves.

Or (the imagination is running wild) combine both loves and use Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours from La Gioconda, the music for the pink-tutued flamingo ballerinas in Disney's Fantasia.

finally caught up with this thread. at one point, I thought I was in the split and retirement thread because i was so depressed while reading it.. and nope... i was just in the Isabeau and Loena skate to the same program every year thread... So. Many. War. H.O.R.S.E.S
I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking just how many there are... on the other hand, let us be grateful they are a range of warhorses. Remember the year where every third skater did the same one???

Now you're making me think of Isabeau in pretty pink dresses a la Ariana Grande as Glinda in the new Wicked movie for the flamingo program and I'm very much not opposed to that thought 😍

like every year LOL... :)
The POTO year was special though, even Kurt Browning had a dig about it

Not everyone could wear that amount of virtual fairy floss but I think Isabeau would look lovely.
