Wow - Ilia's performance skills have really improved since I last saw him skate - hats off. Also, extra points for coordinating the colour of his blades with the outfit!

I definitely agree with the scores here, and hopefully this lead will allow Ilia to go a little easier on the tech content tomorrow (there was a rumour that he was considering going for 7 quads in the free) and we can see him perform his FS throughout just like he did today in the short and like I've seen him do in practice. His free is so good in practice but has fallen a tad flat in competition because he's focused on the jumps, and I really want him to show it at full performance.

I have no idea either but I do not know if the costume will last the season because a couple of years he was constantly changing his clothing because he was growing. I am not sure if he is completely done yet so it maybe will change by Nationals and Worlds.

Ouch. Just 68.22 for the SP for Aymoz, I think it's been a while since he got a score this low. I expected him to give a lights out skate actually, I noticed that most skaters tend to do really well in front of the home audience.

Hopefully as he's far from a medal in the free, he can just skate lights out without pressuring himself

What I was really impressed by was that he kept the performance going throughout and even in the K&C, he didn't look crestfallen. This is brilliant progress psychologically, I think. I'm sad he didn't skate at his best, but really happy that he didn't appear to be completely gutted by it. I think this will really help him to become more consistent in future.
