My stomach dropped at the fall and then it's like nothing ever happened and she threw everything into that step sequence. Amazing power, but that fall is really gonna cost her. Hope she isn't too hard on herself

Such a shame that Rino once again has major mistakes in the SP. I fear that cements her fate of not making the Japanese world team. She is capable of being so brilliant in the FS, but at this level of competition and against the likes of Sakamoto, Higuchi, and Chiba, she can’t consistently make such costly errors and be on the Japanese world team.

I'm hoping for Rino to be in the 4CC team instead, I think that will do her better to gradually build her confidence than being in the Worlds team this season.

If she can medal at 4CC I think it'll boost her confidence and help her fight her short program demon

Wakaba skates with so much power and intensity. That step sequence was amazing, so fierce, and her twizzles with her head back made me gasp, she spun through them so fast. Love her 2A, it looks so comfortable and easy. That fall on the combination is unfortunate, but she just got up, went straight back into the programme, and performed her heart out - what resilience.

I like that we have three power skaters to end this event even though Wakaba's mistakes made me spit out my dentures in shock.

I have loved Wakababy since the first time I saw her skating. But, even she couldn't make me like that.

I still love Wakababy. I just don't love this programme.
