Gian-Quen is such an enjoyable skater to watch and I was really hoping this would be a strong skate for her. She came back well from two early falls, but that was unfortunately not a great way to open...

A rough start, but she came back in the second half. She has really great speed, a great quality. When she learns to control it it will be really nice

Just now rejoining the stream. There was a pair from South Africa competing this morning, and now a single lady. I don’t think I’ve ever seen skaters from Africa before—certainly not in Seniors—and what an intriguing development that is!

Lombardia is the new mecca of figure skating... we saw the return of North Korea and South Africa. I wonder when we witnessed those two countries in the same event last... probably some 4CC a decade ago

Good speed, height in the jumps, and armography. I usually don't like these (very popular these days) "generic epic cover" programs much, but Kristen manages to sell this one better than most. Definitely a stronger skate than we've seen thus far, so that's nice to see.

I saw her compete in Colorado Springs, 2012. Oh how I long for the days when Caroline Zhang was winning ISU medals with her cheated Loop combo. She and Grant do have beautiful children, though.
