Katherine NOBLE / Atsushi ARAUCHI-EVERITT (GBR) skated to a Tom Jones medley: "Delilah" followed by "You Can Leave Your Hat On".

And at one point during the latter song, it did look like Atsushi was going to start stripping in front of the judges. But, he was just teasing them.

They were both wearing black. Although, Atsushi was also had a pair of red braces.

They go into the lead.

Adele CIPRESSO / Aliosha MAGISTRONI (ITA) had very contrasting costumes.

Aliosha was wearing a royal blue hirt and black trousers.

Adele, though, was wearing a dress that looked like a whole pile of tins of various colours of paint had been thrown at it.

Don't know the music. But, it had a latin feel to it.

They go into the lead.

Corinne TROXLER / Ulrich LIECHTI (CHE) had matching costumes. The top half of Corinne's dress was dark grey, while the skirt part was sky blue. Ulrich's top was the same - dark grey at the top fading to sky blue at the bottom. But he also had black trousers.

They were skating to that epic female cover of "Never Tear Us Apart".

They were pretty good. BUT, they finished early, and didn't know what to do until the music finished.

Ah, I see Raymond BAGET (FRA) amongst the crowd accompanying them for their scores.

They go into 4th position.

A bit of a pause after the warm-up for some reason. The skaters coming on didn't know why, but they took it in good spirits.

Nuna TOGNONI / Mario MAGNASCO (ITA) are skating to "Life On Mars" by David Bowie.

Nuna is wearing a black dress, while Mario is wearing a sky blue shirt with black trousers.

They were good.

They go into 2nd position.

Didn't notice, it's three Italian partnerships in a row, before the Graysons finish off.

Awwwww!!!! Cinzia TOSO / Gianni DELL'EVA (ITA) are skating to "Por Una Cabeza" with the lyrics!!! Not the instrumental that we normally hear. It's not the original by Carlos Gardel, but a female singer. And it sounds so good!

Then it changed to a guitar instrumental piece that we are used to seeing being skated to, but I can't remember what it is.

They were wearing all black, and they were good.

They go into the lead. And I am not surprised.

Patrizia MANFROI / Corrado CEFFA (ITA) were skating to a rock version of "I'm Feeling Good". Not sure who was singing it. Then it went into "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse

Patrizia was wearing a red dress with black trim, while Corrado was wearing all black. Sorry, the lower parts of his sleeves were read. Didn't notice that until the end.

They were good too!

They go into 2nd position. And they are delighted.

The Graysons (AUS) were skating to "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" by the Four Seasons

Louise was wearing a sky blue dress, while Bryan was wearing a royal blue shirt and black trousers.

I have developed a real admiration for these two. There are not many skaters that do Singles, Pairs and Ice Dance all at the same time. And even fewer partnerships where both of do it. It just shows their enthusiasm for the sport.

They go into 2nd position.

Which means that, between them, they go home to Sydney with a 1st; 2nd; 3rd; 4th; and 7th.

Aha! I saw Adelio in the crowd supporting the Italians in the previous group, and was thinking "I don't remember seeing that costume!"

If I say that Paola CRESPI / Adelio FATTORETTO (ITA) were skating to "The Greatest Show", I don't need to bother describing what he was wearing. Paola was wearing a lovely British Racing Green dress with golf trim and stripes.

Well, it wasn't just "The Greatest Show". They also had another song from "The Greatest Showman" after it, "Rewrite the Stars" by Zac Efron and Zendaya.

That was good. I enjoyed that.

I total change of tempo for Cathy LYND / Fred GUTZ (CAN). They were skating to a Motown medley: "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge; followed by "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

Cathy was wearing a black dress with white triangles around her waist. Fred was wearing a white shirt and black trousers. Oh, and an un-tied dickie bow.

Ah, two of their companions are wearing face masks. Hope there isn't something going around the skaters.

Eszter LUKENICS / Gustav KAPRAL (AUT) wearing traditional Alpine dress and skating to an instrumental medley of lots of songs from "The Sound Of Music".

Big height difference.

There was one point when they were skating backwards side-by-side, and they were drifting towards each other. And I thought they were going to collide. But, they didn't.

Great idea for a programme. And it worked well.

Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention - Gustav was wearing glasses.

Sonja GOELLER / Paul DEMMELHUBER (DEU) were skating to an instrumental piece that we have heard being skated to frequently, but I don't know what it is. Then it turned into that male / female duet version of "Unchained Melody". Then into another male cover.

There are lots of versions of "Unchained Melody" out there. Could they not have chosen better ones?!

Anyway, Sonja was wearing an extremely pale blue dress (it was not far off blending into the ice), while Paul wore a white shirt and black trousers.

The skating was much better than the music, although there were some glaringly obvious synchronicity issues.

I don't know what the programme from Lucy STRANGE / Christopher TUTHILL (GBR) was supposed to be.

Lucy was wearing a red dress, while Christopher was wearing all black.

The first half of it was to a brass instrumental (probably trumpet, but I'm not committing). And the second half was to a techno piece. It was surreal.

Was it an olè programme? I haven't a clue!

They don't have anybody accompanying them.

They finish in 2nd position.

Nadine le SAOUT / Emmanuel HUET (FRA) were wearing beautiful purple costumes, although Emmanuel had an open white shirt over his.

I am really kicking myself trying to remember what the music is. It is a piece that I really love, but I can't think of what it is called.

Everything about that programme was beautiful. The costumes, the music, and the skating.

The American partnerships to come are going to have to be outstanding to surpass this.

Jodi BEGGS / Peter SASMORE (USA) were skating to "Cheek To Cheek". I think it was the Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga version. Well, it certainly wasn't the Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald version!

Jodi was wearing a bright pink dress, while Peter was wearing all black.

They were good. But, I preferred the French before them.

Oh. They go into the lead. I wasn't expecting that.

Jennifer FREEDMAN / Oleg VOYKO (USA) were skating to a Beatles medley. "Something"; followed by "I Want To Hold Your Hand". And it had a very rough edit in the middle of the latter song!

Oleg was wearing all black. But how do I descrribe Jennifer's dress? Well, it was predominatly red, but it had a red and orange pattern on the lower half.

Of the programmes from the two American partnerships, I preferred this one.

They win. Resurfacing time.

And that is it for the Ice Dance this year. We now move onto a whole string of Singles competitions. Starting with a Silver level triple-bill. 12 Class IV + V ladies; followed by 9 Class III gentlemen; followed by 9 Class I + II gentlemen.
