I popped in 10 minutes ago to post my reminder, and caught the tail end of some sort of presentation. I take it that one of the organisers or officials is retiring.

We continue our Masters level quadruple-bill with a group of 6 Class II ladies.

Just arrived back, and not sure what stage we are at. But somebody is skating to "Defying Gravity" from "Wicked".

And she is absolutely brilliant!!!

Ach, she fell just as the big note was about to be reached! But, she still fist pumped on the note when she got up.

It's the penultimate skater, Elaine JURUN (USA)

A big crowd for her results.

She goes into 4th position.

The final skater, Hanna HYKKYRÄ (FIN), was wearing a beautiful Medieval style dress. It was purple, with a white trim instead of a collar.

I loved the music. It was an instrumental, and seemed to tie in with what I reckoned was a Medieval theme.

As ever with Finnish Ladies skaters, it was a beautiful skate.

She goes into 5th position.

If the skaters that I saw were the ones that went into penultimate and antepenultimate positions, the standard must have been so high!

Abigail GRAEFE (USA) got us off to a good start.

She was skating to a song that I hadn't heard before, but I looked up some lyrics and it is "I've Got a Feeling" by Macy Todd (who I hadn't come across before either).

Boys but that song suits skating to! Or, at least, it suits Abigail skating to it!

She was wearing a bautiful purple dress.

Laura ROGERS (USA) gave us a Britney Spears medly: "Gimme More"; followed by "Toxic"; followed by a song I didn't know; and then back to "Gimme More".

I'll be honest, when it started, I thought it was "Circus".

She was wearing a dress with a red body, but black sleeves, skirt piece, and dog collar (yes, seriously).

And you know what, when she was finished, I wanted her to gimme more! It was that good!

She goes into 2nd position.

Eva GERLACH (DEU) giving us a figure skating staple. And, of course, I can't remember what it is! Oh, it's changed to a different tune. And it is another staple, but I can't think what it is either. Then finishing with an opera piece (without vocals), which I can't remember what it is either. My mind is really struggling tonight.

Black dress, with VERY sparkly trim.

And yet another good skate. Boys the standard of this competition is high. (Of course it is! There is a reason that these girls are Masters level skaters!)

She goes into the lead.

Awwww. A toddler just ran over to her after the scores were announced, and she picked him up, sat him on her knee and waved his hand to the camera!

Angela THOMASIUS (CHE) took us to "Chicago".

She was wearing black stockings and a dress which was black apart from the part that went over her bust and around her neck. That was black and white.

Like the three skaters before her, she was really good!

She goes into the lead.

Ach, last skater already! This competition is so good I don't want it to end!

Ranait OCONNOR (USA) was skating to "Somebody To Love" by Queen.

She was wearing a red dress.

I know I am starting to sound like a stuck record, but she was good too!

She goes into 5th position.

We finish the day with two combined competitions. First up, it's the gentlemen. A group containing 3 Masters III gentlemen; and 1 Masters Elite I gentleman.

Well, if Alain FRANCEZE (FRA) is anything to go by, the standard of the Masters gentlemen is just as high as it is for their female counterparts!

He was wearing a black jumpsuit with sparklies, and skating to instrumental music (not sure if it was him, but it was the style that my fellow Ulsterman Gary Moore plays).

Ah, the announcer fell into the trap. She called him Alex RINALDI instead of Axel RINALDI (FRA).

When he came out, I thought we were going to get a Mime act. But, instead he was acting the clown.

I lost count of the number of times that he fell. But, it was obvious that it was all part of the act.

This was an exhibition programme being done in a competition. And he was treating it as an exhibition performance. He was out to entertain the audience. He wasn't worrying about scores or anything.

And the announcer got his name wrong again! But, I had to smile at the tone of her voice. She was saying it in an "oh you naughty devil!" way!

Unsurpisingly, he went into 2nd position.

Rolf PETERZIEL (DEU) was wearing a blue and brown costume. It reminded me of the jumpsuit that Maggie HARDING (USA) wore for her Artistic FS.

I have no idea what language the first song was in. But then we got some environmental dialogue. Then a song in English.

So, I was right in likening it to Harding's costume.

He was good. But, I think I would give it to the first skater.

No. He wins!

Well, even before the scores come up, we knew that Christian FRANZ (DEU) would be the winner.

I thought the Masters skaters were good. But we could see the difference in standard between Masters and Masters Elite right from the start. Christian was definitely at a different level to those that came before him.

And the good news is that we've got two more Masters Elite competitions coming up before the day is over!

Right, this first skater is the lady who finished second in the Masters Elite III + IV Ladies Artistic FS, just 1.92 points behind Midori ITO (JPN).

Magdalena HUBER KREDL (CHE) is wearing a very pink dress.

I'll be honest, I think she was trying too hard. And as a result, she was making quite a few mistakes.

But, it won't make any difference. She's still going home with a Gold Medal.

The announcer was stumbling a lot when introducing Regan ALSUP (USA). Well. it's been a long day.

Regan was wearing a bautiful purple dress. And skating to "Perfect" by Ed Shearan.

This is more like what we were expecting after seeing male counterpart Christian FRANZ (DEU).

Regan was absolutely brilliant!!!

The perfect way to finish off the penultimate day of the event. (Sorry, I had to!)

The final day of the ISU International Adult Competition begins by finishing off the Ice Dance competitions. Our Free Dance quadruple-bill consists of 8 Bronze partnerships; followed by a group of 2 Silver partnerships; followed by a group of 3 Gold partnerships; followed by a group of 3 Masters Elite partnerships. First up are the 8 Bronze partnerships, who are arranged into two groups of 4 partnerships.
