We finish with Daria STIEGLER / Adrian STIEGLER (DEU) skating to "Reflection" by Christina Aguilera.

But, their costumes didn't say "Mulan" to me. They were both wearing canary yellow costumes with red and blue trim.

They go into 5th position. And they are delighted!

So, as I expected, the Finns win!

Midori ITO (JPN) is entered again this year!!!

In other news I was distracted watching the Giro and playing a computer game so I only just tuned into the stream now...in time for the ice resurfacing, do'h!

Oh. My. Goodness.

Kathleen YARNOLD (AUS) came out dressed as a bumble bee!!!

And then the music started, and it all made sense. It was a techno version of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight Of The Bumble Bee".

What can you say about somebody skating in a bumble bee costume?! Apart from it being a bumble of fun. (See what I did there?)

We move from Pairs to Ice Dance. And, believe it or not, it is the first combined competition of the week. The Short Dance for the Adult and Masters Elite partnerships. 2 Adult partnerships; followed by 1 Masters Elite partnership.

Former Olympic figure skater Midori Ito, 54, won an international title at the ISU International Adult Championship in Oberstdorf, Germany on Tuesday. She retired 32 years ago.

Yeah, that is the thing I hate about this stream. That you can only watch it back after it has finished broadcasting. And only if they manage to end the broadcast properly. There have been a couple of times this week that they didn't end it properly and, when I came to catch up on what I had missed the following morning, the website thought it was still on air.

Yep. She only did the Artistic Free Skate.

Masters Elite III Ladies Artistic FS: Results; Protocols

Although she won as expected, the other two skaters were class as well!

It was lovely to see her supporting the other Japanese skaters yesterday. No airs and graces - she was sitting on the floor!

Katsura OGUSHI / Hideshi OGUSHI (JPN) skating to "Notorious" by Duran Duran and, ach, I can't remember what the other song was!

Paola CRESPI / Adelio FATTORETTO (ITA) skating to a Tina Turner medley.

I take it that the 1980's theme applies to the Adult skaters too, then.

The Japanese win. Which I agree with.

And I bet you the Americans win the next competition!

Back-to-back Tina Turner! Well, with some George Michael afterwards.

Jennifer FREEDMAN / Oleg VOYKO (USA) were "Simply The Best". And then they had "Faith". (Sorry, I had to).

You can see why they are in the top level. I looked them up, and Oleg was a regular podium finisher in the Ukrainian Ice Dance Championships in the 5 years either side the millennium, winning the Junior title once and Senior title twice. And he was a regular medallist in the Junior GP's as well, including two wins.

Couldn't find out as much about Jennifer. Unlike her partner, she doesn't have a Wikipedia page.

After that very brief foray into Pairs skating and Ice Dance, we go back to the Singles skating for the rest of the day. First up is a Gold level Free Skate double-bill. A group of 6 Gold IV+V ladies; followed by 7 Gold I + II gentlemen.

Maggie HARDING (USA) was skating to a medley of different versions of "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics. FIrst that cover that skaters seem to love; followed by a techno instrumental. I thought the original might appear at the end, but it didn't.

She was wearing a black jumpsuit with a large cutout on the back, and sparklies as trim.

And she was absolutely brilliant!!!

She goes into the lead.

Just as a follow up to Maggie HARDING (USA). I looked her up, and she has an album of photos from the Artistic FS on Instagram. And she explains that her "Earth Song" programme that I liked was a dedication to two people that she has lost recently: a fellow skater who liked to do Michael Jackson programmes; and Maggie's own husband, who was an environmentalist.

She did them proud.

You know how I don't like white costumes, because they blend into the ice. Well, Giovanna MOHLER-HAUSHEER (CHE) took it to the extreme. Not only was she wearing a white dress, but she also had white stockings and a white headband!

And boys but she was going for it! The audience couldn't get enough of her! Massive cheers for practically everything!

Even with the fall near the end, this might well be my favourite perfromance of the week!

It was certainly the audience's favourite. The arena erupted at the end!!!

Beautiful black and gold dress for the final skater, Gabriele HUTTER (DEU). It actually reminds me of the Gold Zeo Ranger's suit:

Loved the music (it was an instrumentral piece that I am not familiar with), but she made too many mistakes to be in contention.

Completing out Gold level double-bill are the Gold I + II gentlemen. It was supposed to be 7 gentlemen, arranged into a group of 3; followed by a group of 7. However, one of them has withdrawn. Consequently, all 6 gentlemen are going out in the one group.

As ever, there was a large crowd all in Polish team uniforms with him.

@elektra blue - did you give Marcello CAZZANIGA (ITA) the keys to Samarin's closet? There was a reason we put a lock on it, you know!

He's wearing all black. His T-shirt has a life-sized rib cage on the front. And his jacket (with tails) has a massive skull on the back!

I am kicking myself trying to remember what this music is.

EDIT: Of course, it was "Danse Macabre" by Camille Saint-Saëns. ​

An even bigger crowd with him. I counted 20, including himself.

He was really enjoying himself out there. And I was enjoying it too!

Hang on. I know I haven't caught up on everything yet, but can it really be that it has taken until near the end of the penultimate day of this event to have our first "Phantom Of The Opera" programme?!

Andrea TARELLI (ITA) wasn't actually that bad. But he was so close to falling on the sit-spin that he did at the very end of his programme. He had to put his hand down to stay up.

He goes into 3rd position.

We now start a Masters level quadruple-bill. A group of 3 Class III+IV ladies; followed by a group of 6 Class II ladies; followed by a group of 5 Class I ladies; followed by a group of 3 Class III gentlemen.

But, I'm going to be leaving for food, either before or after the first skater.
