I think the music and costume were Chinese. (If they are not, I apologise). Whatever they were, they were beautiful.

And the skating was beautiful.

I think everybody knew we would be getting an "Addams Family" programme as soon as Maureen CARRIGAN (USA) came onto the ice!

Oh, it switched from "The Addams Family Theme" by Vic Mizzy to "Goo Goo Muck" by the Cramps after a while. Much as I like both songs, I don't think they work well together.

Well, at least we now know what Wednesday Addams will look like when she is older.

First "Carmen" of the day from Vera HROUDOVA (CZE). But, although we got a snippet of "March Of The Torreadors" at the very end, it was all music that doesn't usually get used in skating programmes.

I enjoyed that.

A whole pile of her team-mates sitting with her. Including Jana PŘIBYLOVÁ, who is now wearing a very colourful tracksuit.

Reading your descriptions and wishing I could see the skating, but Deutschland TV doesn't seem to make it out to the Pacific coast of Canada. It wants me to pay them something in Euros, and I don't want to fiddle with PayPal's conversion and then find they still won't let me see the competition. So I'll just have to imagine what's going on from your comments.

When I saw the dress that Katarzyna KONOPACKA (POL) was wearing, I was convinced that I was going to see a "Snow White" programme for the first time. But, alas, it wasn't.

When she came to get her scores, a whole pile of the Polish team was there. And I noticed something - three of them were wearing flower crowns in the colours of the Polish flag. And they did look very like the ones that our Beatrice makes.

That's strange. Although some of the events that Deutschland TV does are pay streams (e.g. the Bavarian Open), this one isn't.

One thing that you do have to do to get the video to play is to disable your ad-blocker. So, maybe that is the problem. (I didn't even know that Opera had a built-in ad-blocker until I tried to watch something on Deutschland TV last season!)

I am really enjoying this, so I hope you will be able to get in somehow.

I'll be going quiet shortly, as I am going to eat. And I want to make sure I am finished before my "kid" Liubov comes on.

Odile CAVORET (FRA) doing a "Lion King" programme!!! ("Circle Of Life", to be precise).

And unlike a certain other skater who doesn't know his lions from his tigers, the costume totally fitted the theme. No, she wasn't dressed as a lion. But she was wearing a beautiful traditional African costume.

Absolutely loved that.

She goes into 9th position.

And that is perfect! We are having a resurfacing now!

Just a wee recap on the previous 3 skaters.

We saw Michiko HAYASHI (JPN) earlier when one of the other Japanese skaters was getting her scores. And I could have sworn that it was Akiko Suzuki. Michiko looks very like her!

Chantal LEWIS (CAN) was skating to "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles. She was wearing black, although it wasn't velvet. And boys but she was selling it!

Nilufer ERDEBIL (CAN) was skating to "Hip Hip, Chin Chin". She was wearing a gold dress. And she was making a good job of selling it too.

Now for my "kid".

I was hoping that she would keep the same Artistic FS programme as last season. "Zorba" always goes down well!

Unfortunately, her hand also went down during a choreographic slide. But, otherwise, I didn't spot any issues.

You could see she was enjoing herself out there.

Big crowd with her. Don't know who they all are. One was wearing a French team jacket, so probably friends she has made on the competition circuit.

She goes into 2nd position.

That would be the problem. Ad-blocker. I don't know how to disable it and wouldn't want to try for fear I couldn't get it back on after a short period of watching the competition, and at $140 per year, I want it working! The English translation does tell me I need to pay, though. Maybe they have different policies for different countries? I'll ask one of my kids living in Scotland to experiment and see if they can see it.

Oh, I wish I knew which composer it was that Roland SUCKALE (USA) is portraying here. I know the music, but I just can't think whose music it was.

I love the way we have skaters from lots of different countries supporting each other.

We've seen Melanie PURDEY (NZL) a whole pile of times today sitting with various skaters while they were getting their scores. And now we finally know why she was wearing cats ears.

She was skating to "Macavity" from "Cats".

The rest of her costume didn't make me think of a cat, though.

Not a bad skate at all.
