2024 Russian Junior Test Skates

I think Alisa beat Margarita in the free skate of the junior Channel 1 Cup.

Last season was the first time Muraviova had some stability with 3A and still fell apart at the Moscow GP stage.

Tomorrow will tell us a lot. Still it is only August.

She annihilated her in the overall by 10 points in GP final with 232, which was her best score, with 3 quads btw, still short of Mura's 239 with only 2 3As and stumble tumble. Granted juniors have one less StSq, but even a level 4 would only get her like 5 points. I think you see my perspective now.

You might be right from a TECH perspective about Sinitsyna. I wasn't really considering from a competitive perspective for some reason but a personal one.

Muravieva with a 3A would have Dvoeglazova's number unless she gets trash programs as well.

Petrosian isnt losing her 4T. Thats impossible. She actually became more stable after she got bigger last season. She was struggling with sickness until the end and still dropped like 250 without a 3A. She is genius tier so Dvoeglazova would have to be Kamila talent to challenge her this early in her career.

Akateva we cant make any assumptions. Many skaters have missed seasons. Its the same story as Petrosian with her if she even just gets back a 4T.

Dvoeglazova can push top 3 if Muravieva flops but I find it unlikely. Calling her favourite for the season is just delusional lets be honest she has not shown us what Petrosian has, not even close. Especially with that FS. It would be an insult to the sport if she beat Petrosian with that FS.
I wouldn’t be so certain about adelias victory at Russians.
I agree she is dominating the sport right now but this season is another one and let’s be honest, she is not the most stable girl in the sport (even if her 4T became way more stable last season we can’t guarantee it).

As for Alisa, she became very stable last season and she has a very good artistry.
I think you are really underestimating Alisa, especially when you said she can’t beat sinitsyna!

For her FS, we’ll see tomorrow but today, I saw an Alisa in a very good shape and mature, ready for senior level.

Let’s wait to see adelia’s shape and programs in test skate before predicting any winner.

We have no idea about akatieva’s and zhilina’s shape so for the moment, Alisa can easily be top 3.

We should remember it’s sport, anything can happen and I would say a dozen girls could be top 3 lol

Profile picture checks out

Im not even gonna go hard on you I get it bro

I already recanted and corrected myself that Alisa would beat Sinitsyna on tech

But I really dont understand the logic at the beginning there. "Yea Petrosian's 4T was consistent last season but you never know". Like yea ok literally anything can happen to anyone.

And give me a break, everyone calling Adellia inconsistent cause of her 4F is hilarious.

Lets ask the numbers. Alisa in her last, best season alone averaged 224.

Inconsistent Petrosian over the last TWO seasons averaged 243. Inconsistent? Really?

Kostornaia's best year ALONE: 243 average

Shcherbakova 245

Trusova 237

Valieva 260 (wtf)

Akateva 238

So how about we relax?

I would wait for Dvoeglazova's FS tomorrow before claiming anything, tbh :rolleye: With those crazy Eteri's girls you can't be sure in anything - after certain number of quads quality of a program becoms irrelevant. They managed to surprise me time and time again - even when I thought there is nothing new left I would expect from them.

You forgot that Dvoeglazova in SENIOR competitions will begin to get SENIOR PCS as well. All that difference you mentioned was due to artificial ceiling judges are always setting for juniors in PCS and GOE's.

I've already broken everything down in my other responses

I've always praised Dvoeglazova if you know my history in last season

Shes great

Just not Petrosian or Akateva. Not yet. Check the numbers.

I edited my answer above. Read it again.

I already admitted you can argue she can beat Muravieva like 3 posts ago. You're behind son. You're arguing against the wind. If Muravieva falls and Dvoeglazova jumps 3 quads then of course she will win. I just said I dont think its the likely outcome. But she isn't a favourite for first place hahaha. That was the original discussion even Skating91 seemed to recant that instantly in fact I think he was joking anyways.

I mean if you want to argue she is Petrosian level then go ahead and type your heart out but well I genuinely cant even take that serious and I probably won't respond. Just being honest. Petrosian has higher averages than Shcherbakova she is barely behind Kamila hahaha. You can refer to my post in the Russian Ladies thread if you want to see my breakdown on Petrosian.

I think among the junior men the top 3 are evident. Some simply amazing stuff by Lazarev, Voronov and Fedotov. Peeps who complain about no good spins, well, here was a plethora of incredibly cool ones. Gosh, I am hoping for no injuries, because this season is going to be insane in Russian junior men. Have to admit that Voronov is just beyond competition for me, that devotion alone is something else and that program... wow.

I really loved Pleskacheva's, Petrova's, Kostyleva's and Lyashenko's programs, except the cover for Lyashenko was so, so bad. This ain't Breaks of my youth. The tests for SPs for the junior women was lovely 😍

Alisa probably won't even be allowed to compete as a senior, so there's no point in arguing about whether or not she'll be able to beat Adeliia

Also, I just watched Vadim's sp. He looks like he's gotten taller 🥺 but he still looks to be the smallest one there  I enjoyed his program, hope the coaching switch works out for him, he has a lot of potential!

Margarita has a lot to learn still in terms of PCS. Also doesn't have the benefit of doing a 3A and a separate combo in juniors which puts a cap on overall scoring. Also, juniors just don't get super high PCS even if they deserve it.

Yea someone pointed that out. Like I said I'm not really even arguing with anyone. I admitted that she has the capability to beat Mura but the gap with Adeliia and a recovered Akateva just isn't account for. It doesnt look like anyone was even biting the bullet on contesting that thankfully so seems like we have some sanity left.

Last season I was constantly mentioning how impressive Dvoeglazova is, and how her artistry is far beyond her peers. Her FS was loved by everyone but I was also especially impressed with her SP. She is senior level already no doubt and she was beyond some seniors last season already. I definitely mentioned a few times she was my favourite junior, though I might have also swapped between her and a couple others at some points, but in the end I think she was my favourite. So I really have nothing against her at all.

Haha why are they playing the ISU fanfare? I thought I was getting a phone call!

I'm very sad to hear Nikita S isn't here! What a bummer.
