I knew Ilia was gonna bring it because of how calm he looked when got on the ice. I think this is his best SP and, oddly, it was better than last week. Well done.

Definitely better than last week. My daughter was excited to see him live at SA, but a bit disappointed he wasn't at his best there.

Well, the Japanese men and Ilia certainly brought it. I am impressed with their attack and verve under pressure. I like the programs to varying degrees, but I can't complain about the results.

Interesting Ilia and his father speak Russian, not English at the boards.

Very good program. Huge growth artistically.

Not really, his parents speak English but it isn't natural for them and at times like this they will speak Russian because it's easier for them.

Ilia's hoodie has grown on me. I'm done.

I spent a lot of time trying to decide if it's a real hoodie (with hood sewn down) or if the hood is painted on.

I tried to reenact Ilia's ending pose in my living room and am currently in am ambulance being rushed to urgent care.

Man, that was some way to end the men's competition, with two really contrasting artistic visions pulled off really well. Shun may not be my favorite of the "Three Kanto Bears," but that was just exquisite! Yes, exquisite enough to break out the purple text for the first time ever!

And yes, I actually do enjoy Ilia's short program! (It's his free skate that needs a little bit more work, imo) He seems to have gotten a bit of his confidence and swagger back, which is precisely what that style of music needs.

I don't want to complain about the scores now; I'm just glad that Skate Canada has given us both of these performances that are both wonderful in their own ways.

This was the first time I've bought into Ilia's "Running" program.

It's still not to my musical tastes, but he sold it today. And I know it's fashionable to look down one's nose at his "artistry," but honestly, that program had a whole lot of merit today.

Also: Shun was underscored. I'm very interested in seeing that protocol sheet.

Ilia and the Japanese men and Cha skated well as expected. I impressed at the consistency of Ilia - I think he is showing maturity and great conffidence as he wears the world title well skating under pressure of that title. I love Jason even with the errors. His skating is amazing. Not sure about his programs this year especially the free. When you are skating with tech from the early 2000s or before you need to be perfect.. I fear that like I siad before if he makes mistakes he might not make it through tHohe US nats. Roman may have just ended his season for worlds here. I am not sure Canada can send him knowing he has been sent to worlds before and the olympics and failed to get past the sp. Canada has one shot only in men's. True not a lot of quality in the Canadian mens but it would appear Chiu though not overrly engaging is a far safer choice. Honestly Keegan is a saferr choice at this point if they could get him and come back.

French guys bringing it on this season. Keep at it, and I might get tempted to go to Paris.

Also finding the hip hop transition more natural than that of Nathan and Ilia (speaking in terms of music cut, rather than the skating).

I definitely liked this hip hop more than Ilia's. Must be because the French always have good taste. This may be controversial opinion, but I found that Luc and Junhwan Cha had better skating quality and composition that Jason Brown today. And more innovative SP programs.

I got goosebumps when I heard the Targaryen theme. But I have to say, not really a fan of this medley. Too many themes stuffed into a short piece of music so I can't fully appreciate it
