He can only catch up one point and the Greens already have a lead. Not sure yet because Lazarev is there.
Lenkov opens with 4Lz... and 4S2A... and my internet cuts out!Looks like team Sasha has this in their bags for good.
Yes this time.Lev delivers great too. But in total I think Arseniy wins.
I think AnnaHe can only catch up one point and the Greens already have a lead.
Fedotov was in the lead before.I think Anna
s team has 2 boys leading
I loved the cute jackets, and the bright decor of the rink-well done. I thought it was a fun event, and fun to watch. I hope the people who attended had a nice time. And I hope the skaters had fun-Lydia seemed enjoy herself for the entire show and that is fun to watch.Live Impressions
I'm writing it right after the event. Without checking replays or anything. I wanted to join you during the ice resurface or something but the mobile network is bad at the arena.
The beginning was a little delayed. Also, Medvedeva had problems with her microphone. It was very quiet at first. In general, there were some organisational problems. This is disappointing, as this is the fourth time the competition is being held. They also never announced team captains that is weird, what if a tie-breaker happened?
The opening was very fun. Nice to see Egor Murashov being involved.
After that, Pasechnik/Cirisano came to show their RD as an exhibition. That's nice because they really needed it after disaster at their stages. They came much earlier as they didn't release there was a delay. So they had to wait a lot.
Dario: *points to an imaginary watch* There're like 10 minutes before our skate!
They had fun and seem to have good relationship in the couple. The skate was very good. They are a podium contenders at Nats if they manage to skate like this in a competition.
I'm glad I got to see Maleina/Samokhin's FD live. That's breathtaking. But the score was weirdly low. I didn't check the broadcast so I don't know why. The two other teams are too juniorish comparing to M/S. Maria Borovikova was loudly supporting them during the last part of the dance.
Pairs
Shesheleva/Karnaukhov: they had an impressive BV and jumps done. The quad twist was bad, I didn't even release that was a quad attempt. I also don't like their throws, they lack distance. IMO they should work on pair elements and PCS as I don't think they would be able to do the 3+3+3 forever. Nice to see someone in Russia starting doing FoDs too.
Kovyazina/Mokhov: Artemiy had a lot of problems with his jumps at the warm-up and so bombed both jumps in the actual skate. Pretty much same thoughs about the throws, pair elements and PCS. Though I think they were more balanced than the previous team.
Domozhirova/Vegera: skate of the day for me. Kira had a lot of problems with her triples at the warm-up but the actual skate was cleanish. I think their previous FS was fine but I love that they brought this one back. I had some worries about their height difference but they look fine so far. The throws are not impressive as before but still spectacular. Chikmareva/Yanchenkov managed to keep their elements, hopefully this is the case for these two, too. The crowd really loved them. Also, their skate decided the result of the event, team green wouldn't win only in the case of a completely disaster for their singles.
A fun moment between the disciplines.
Federation's representative: You don't go to K&C after meeting your skaters...
Dudakov: Thank God!
Women
Agata Petrova: I've never seen her skating so easily. Efortless warm-up, efortless skate. But the previous program was much better.
Pleskacheva: She had a lot of problems with her 3A at the warm-up and only landed it cleanly at the very end of the warm-up. Nice to see her skating well though I guess the 3A was UR.
Smagina: Impressive run. Unexpected layout. She has some kind of wooble on the landing so her jumps look UR but they aren't really so.
Streltsova: Another great performance for Team Green. She's often inconsistent so nice to see her surviving the skate.
Dzepka: Much more mature than the rest of the field. She didn't win TES but won FS with a gap due to PCS (deservedly, of course). Sad that she's struggling to land both 4Ts in the same program but generally she's very balanced and promising skater. Her triples are fantastic.
Mark Kondratiuk skated his SP before the men's event. It's impressive that he lands these jumps with no warm-up. The crowd loves him a lot. Also, that 4S+2A... A helicopter Axel? How to call that? Haha. After his skate he had a handshake with all the junior men and wished a good luck to them.
Men
Roman Khamzin: he looks a bit chaotic probably due to growth spurt. I hope they polish his skating and elements over time. Sezganov looked satisfied with his skate.
Aldar Sambuev: Ah... So, Aldar never performed quads in his programs. At the warm-up he started attempting his 4S. But there were always problems. He goes into the jump, some gets in his way, he has to stop. He goes into the jump, his blades gets stuck on the take-off attempt. At the very end of the warm-up he landed one 4S but it was obvious he didn't manage to warm up properly. So unfortunately the disaster was expected but it was still painful to watch. That's sad, I wanted him to show his artistic abilities in a big event. But I think he's a very promising skater.
Gleb Kovtun: Much better than at a recent event in his hometown. Only if he could skate like this a little more often.
Arseniy Fedotov: He's back! He's absolutely back to his prime! That 4Lo was soo unexpected after all of his problems. I think his spins became a little worse over time but this is a minor problem. The main thing he got his confidence and jumps back. IIRC he's senior-eligible next season.
German Lenkov was watching the skate at boards and clapping.
German Lenkov: That 4Lutz was even more unexpected! I didn't see him doing it at the warm-up. Unfortunately he lost control mid-skate. Never seen this happening to him before. Still, I think he's the strongest JNats bronze contender so far. Hopefully it happens. Also, what's happening with his laces? They always look sloppy and almost undone
He re-laced his boots several times before the performance. This happens all season.
Lev Lazarev: 5 quads are back! What's more I saw a 3A during the warm-up though I don't think he needs it in the free. He looks less balanced than Arseniy. He could still beat him but lost a combo that was very costly for him. Nats are going to be a bloodbath.
I think the result became clear after pairs but Arseniy and Viktoria absolutely locked it. Congrats to Team Green, they all were very good today. Ironically, both hosts had green costumes today.
During the awards ceremony, Lev looked around and re-jumped the combo that costed him the lead.
German looked at this like "is it allowed?" and also re-jumped his 4S. After that he... cried? He looked heartbroken for some reason. I think he really wanted to land this new layout. Later he chatted with Arseniy. They seem to be in a good relationship.
Viktoria also joined the party a little later and redid that 4T.
After the event, they invited Dzepka and Fedotov for the interview as the winners of their disciplines. Looked a little unfair to D/V and M/S.
Generally it was very enjoyable event. Most skaters did their best.
