a deserved score but I really hope she can stay calm and not freak out before the free, having the free tomorrow might be a good thing for her, that extra day can be stressful for some athletes.
And we finish with a great program! Mone looked really stressed for the opening 30 seconds of this program, but she delivered regardless, I think this music helps to calm her down and she really brought the performance in the second half. You could see her light up after she landed that lutz, and the crowd was behind her all the way. She looks really confused at the end too, I think she had a sort of out-of-body experience for this program but in a good way lol.

Great skate from Mone 
Could be first or second, depends on tech panel and PCS. I love this program.
Also, Alysa can really sneak into every opportunity, her mental strenght is amazing.

I was worried for Mone as she looked so nervous in the first half of the program.... but she still delivered the jumps 
I wonder how the judges will judge her PCS, she evidently was tense in the first half and only came alive halfway through.
Alysa performed better but Mone definitely has better SS, and being in Japan, Mone will probably take the lead ey.

If someone is about to deliver it has to be Mone.That lutz edge is called broken ankle for sure.Incredible quality in every single element.Her and Alysa are most consistent that's why they are favorites to win every competition.
Lets see if she gonna change combination in 2nd part of the program for Olympics to get even more points,but even without this she should get 78's.

I have a feeling that Mone Chiba will be the favorite to win the Olympic Gold this season.

I loved it!!!! The music, the costume, but most of all the skating.

That was so funny. One of the coaches went wild when the scores were announced. But there was no reaction from Mone or the other coach. Then we realised - Mone was in shock!
And on that note, I am away to watch the F1 Free Practice 2.
I'll catch up on the Senior Pairs FS afterwards.

Right, @elektra blue . We know how you feel about Mao Shimada's SP costume, and about Ekaterina Kurakova's costumes in general.
How do you feel about Mone Chiba's SP costume? Because I feel it falls into the same category as those others I just mentioned. So, I expect you to not like it.

My saying for years. ISU should finallly see the light and double the group count in the GPF. In the GPs too, if they can.
