Thinking of the painting with "Adam" in it - the opportunity to lie around on the ice for some time again is clearly there. Weird. Besides I don't like this "program explaining" and oh, I'm so very meaningful". A short teaser like Malinin - ok. But this?? It would be better to get the jumps together consistently and not pretend to be an artistic skater you are clearly not. Make programs being efficient in terms of getting points and playing to your strenghs. End of story. Chen knew very well he was no Hanyu and planned accordingly. Malinin gets cleverly made programs - and first and foremost usually gets his jumps together.

Yet another person who is apparently unaware that Benoit Richaud's choreography for that program was based solely on the film "Dune 2". In the film, Paul "dies" and is brought back to life which is clearly depicted by Adam on the ice. Unless one is completely deaf, you can easily hear the heart beat slow down and see Adam's chest move up and down with the beat in the sound track as he is lying on the ice before returning to life.

If you have a problem with skating programs based solely on what happens in films, and skaters portraying characters within the film, take it up with the choreographer. That's Benoit. But knowing Benoit's strong personality as I do, I don't think you'd like his response too much. Taking the time to understand what a program is about is your responsibility. By doing a trailer, Benoit is trying, again, to educate the audience what his choreography is based on.

Attacking the skater makes little sense to me. None, actually. He's not the choreographer.

Thank you very much ("arigato") for your lovely insinuations and misunderstandings of my previous post. So very funny. Language/communications is my main research area and sometimes I can't resist playing around a little.
So - sorry not sorry, I don't have a problem with programs based on films - I do know the Dune movies and so I even know (isn't logic beautiful?!) the scene used in that case - I happen to be not deaf and heard the heartbeat (it was ugly nonetheless - and aside from that, it was a nice little recovery break (which didn't really help the jumps at all - fact)) - I did not attack the skater but I found that he is not a skater whose style one would describe as "aesthetic," which logically does not change by disseminating artsy explanations through the media; I also found that, for tactical reasons, it would be much more advantageous to construct clever programs with music that covers up obvious weaknesses, and I gave two examples - the skater works with the choreographer and implements the results, so he or she has a lot to do with how the whole thing ultimately looks, especially if it's a more prominent skater.

Unfortunately, there are a number of directors and choreographers who create unsightly and pretentious stuff and make a lot of money from it (at the Puccini Festival in Torre al Lago, a singer just had an accident because she had to climb around on a torso (unclothed... well, the torso) - surely something deeply meaningful (lol)). I would be downright disappointed if I liked anything by Mr. Richaud and the likes. I just turn it off, especially since repeated falls don't make it any better, and that's it. I don't have any "responsibility" and certainly don't need any "education" from someone like Mr. Richaud in terms of artistic value and content; I can easily manage without him.

Hana Yoshida JPN
details on her SP music: Twisted Nerve by Bernard Herrmann/Ironside Theme by Quincy Jones/Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by Santa Esmeralda, RZA, Bennie Benjamin/Battle Without Honor Or Humanity by Hotei
and the FS has changed!
FS: Hana's Odyssey From Sea to Sky by Karl Hugo/The Siren and the Sailor (feat. Alexa Ray) by Jennifer Thomas
She has Benoit and Lori listed as choreographers and since Benoit did her short program, Lori must have done the free

It's confirmed that Hana changed her FS from Shakuhachi / La Terre vue du ciel because of copyright issues - she just changed it 2 weeks ago before today's comments for Kinoshita Cup. The new FS is already made by the time of the decision, but not finished yet.

I hope Shakuhachi is the one with copyright issues, because there's another La Terre vue du ciel program (Adam's SP) for this season...

Music: The Ball - Asaf Avidan / The Smell of the Sea - Alan Mayer / Code Duello - Power-Haus, Sergi-Dan Muresan

The music seems so epic.

i knew it, i predicted this at the end of last season. now i predict one or both of them wrapped in a glittered union jack

They were in action today at the Bolero Cup in Sheffield.

Lilah is wearing a glittered Union Jack dress. But, the flag is not centred like in Geri Halliwell's dress. The vertical part of the cross is at the side, under Lilah's right arm. Also, the colours are washed out like in Dame Edna Everage's dress.

Lewis is wearing a leopard print vest (very Bet Lynch!) and black trousers.

So, you were half right.
