Yes. It would be very easy for one to be ripped out of her ear.

Not only that.

Steps require a lot of stamina actually. Much more than is commonly believed.

Also, high lifts are prohibited, but dancing lifts are dangerous due to speed and difficult positions. A lot of women end up with concussions.

I think a lot of people in ice dance also end up with injuries because of how closely the team has to skate together - Any small misstep can cause serious injuries to both partners. And twizzles are also a common source of injuries and concussions, if you get stuck in a rut in the ice you are eating ice faster than you can catch yourself.

Plus, while toxicity is common in all parts of elite sports, ice dance has a really bad history with eating disorders and toxicity between partners, and skaters and coaches. Lots of ice dancers have very dramatic and big personalities, so I guess that also kind of makes sense.
