Not sure about this program for Rino and the cello cover or whatever it was. She was tentative, jumps are not her strength, but the choreography keeps it going. Lovely spiral into a loop.

What a shame about the freak fall! Rino had been doing so well. That said, I found the program quite empty, and it was honestly quite distracting how in and out of the performance she went. It was like, "Smile - Focus - Smile - Focus" on repeat, and the smiles (other than the genuine ones when she landed jumps) seemed forced.

That was such a gorgeous skate and then that cursed fall in the step sequence. They'll pick away at her TES and the too low PCS they always give her will be even lower due to the fall.

(Also, lmao at her Lutz getting a ! call when she got ! calls on her Flips at Chubu Regionals. Make your minds up.)

This is the best international competition from Matsuike in years. She usually bombs one program - normally the SP - and comes back in the free. The fall on the steps was just unnecessary.

You wouldn't know from the scores though. Just saying.

Omg, this is the THIRD….THIRD butchering of Unchained Melody I’ve heard in China. Two from this competition! And how is it that we’re hearing the same intrusive voiceovers?! These skaters are killing me with their music choices.

The technical score is fair enough, but her PCS is always a demonstration of what is wrong with having the same panel score GOE and PCS.

This program is not my cup of tea, kinda boring. But Anastasiia skates so beautifully to it, it really works for her.

I know Rino had the fall in the steps which will affect her PCS but she is not 3 points worse in PCS than Nastya... god I hate Olympic season scoring

Another really solid skate! Nastya has been on fire with the jumps for the first part of the season to get her Olympic spot. After Rino, she seems a bit slow, but she has great free leg extension. I don't love the program (I'm so sick of Ghost at this event), but she seems to and is doing a good job performing it.

Gubanova delivered solid skate, maybe her best in GP, where she traditionally is not very successful.
