I think those days are long gone. With moves to try to make the sport more popular and appeal to a younger audience, they're not going to do waltzing.

The ISU will never come to the realization but they will not appeal to Gen Alpha with 90's music either, it'd be much better to try to actually retain existing fans. And also if the ISU wants to actually keep new people interested and not just give momentary attention they had better provide something that is the marriage of sport and art, which is fueled by creativity and passion, which (as mentioned by actual ice dancers) the dance party themes actively inhibit. They are sabotaging the sport they're trying to promote, just as higher ups out of touch do, but you are right in that they are not going to do the strategically correct thing anyway

Fun French team - giving us something different. they seemed to have a bit of trouble keeping up with the music at times, but their skill level fresh out of juniors is quite good. They have a nice look.

There was some great music in the 90s (Boyz II Men fan here), although 80s were better. I think the issue is the significant lack of creativity/variety with the music choices. The same thing happened in 2024 with the 80s theme with the same three bands and musicians being used over and over….and over.

There is a lot of great 90s music but I am pretty sure most of it doesn't meet the "upbeat" requirement or if it does it probably doesn't have the the correct beats per minute required for this season.

They love them. They posted that Madi Chock designed them - Gleb says this is the first costume he has ever really liked. Diana is also really happy with hers. They said Madi gave them what they wanted.
