Also, are we going back to interviewing skaters right after their programs? I think I heard some lady asking them questions in the kiss&cry before scores were announced??

I think it might be Ashley Wagner?

It seems cruel really. A bit like having the "leaders chair" at Worlds in Boston. They're exposed enough already in the Kiss & Cry.

Interesting pairs so far. In men, it looks like USFS specifically scraped the bottom of the barrel to put Brown on the podium. I can't explain this comp otherwise, because this many men jumping 2A in the SP of the senior GP is laughable. Not a competition that offers much to me.

It's all well and good to have a rant on the history of pairs skating and the ladies landing jumps. I'm sure ALL of them are capable of landing triples but do they land them in competition? Sometimes. I agree that Danny and Ellie are wonderful to watch but how many times (and I'm sure you have the statistic) has Ellie landed on the ice, losing them critical points, and basically kept them either off the podium or 4th place or farther down. They've had some wins but they've had a lot of "also rans" and it's been mostly because of Ellie not being able to land triples or the throw triples. Not picking on them particularly because I really like them BUT it's just representative of American pairs teams (and probably a lot of non-USA teams) I think it will be interesting to see what Starr Andrews does as a pairs girl.

Did anyone else think that Miura and Kihara looked a little out of sorts in general here? Even before the jump error?

I saw some bananas comments under the youtube stream before catching up and assumed that Shaidrov had bombed but he got close to 90. Two superior component skaters with clean skates and decent jump tech are ahead of him.

I don’t know if it was shown on the stream—I was in the arena—but Kihara took a nasty fall in the warmup and ended up on his backside. That could have had an impact.
I agree Aymoz was fabulous—though as always, i held my breath on every jumping pass.
I was mystified by Shaidorov’s scores, though it’s clear he loses points on footwork and spins, especially the latter, which are subpar.
Brown i thought was overscored by 10 points at least. I have all the respect in the world for him and what he’s accomplished over his long career, but this looked like a show program to me and, as a competitive program, when your jump content is relatively modest, you really do need to nail all of it.

I can't sau much since I fell asleep watching it.
I saw the first group of pairs. The U.s
Teams are good but need to land their throws and side by sides jumps.

I woke up on the replay on Muira/ Khara and could tell by commentating thet messed up.
But with injuries and coming back that is expected. The commentator lifting praise on Georgia pairs.
Saw Liam skate fell asleep.
I had to watch the replay tile to see the pairs and men.
The peacock tiles on mine listed it as E not peacock.

Tara's all right. :)

I don't understand any American viewer who doesn't by now install VPN and stream from YouTube. Access to everything, can rewind during streams and no American commentators yapping non-stop. No commercials if your YouTube is premium.
