You guys are a tough audience. The field had Shaidorov (silver at worlds last year), Aymoz (5th), Memola (10th) and Grassl (13th). plus Tomono did a couple of nice quads with all positive GOE abd is leading the pack (for now).

As for U.S. skaters, no one has yet established himself as U.S. number two bumping Brown. so absent Malinin I don't think Jason is exactly scum at the bottom of USFS's barrel. And then. too. he is a popular crowd pleaser in the U.S., which organizers of skating shows do pay attention to, I think.

Phebe Bekker/James Hernandez: I better liked they last season RD, not this season RD.

Alica Fabbri/Paul Ayer:I prefer them not La/Le.

OOna Brown/Gage Brown:Really hate they RD.

Celina Fradji/Jean-Hans Fourneaux:My favorite team today.

Katerina Mrazkova/Daniel Mrazek:I don't like they music, but like program.

Locia Demougugeot/ Teo Le Mercier:My favorite team in second group. They needed be on the podium

Marjorie Lajoie/Zachary Lagha:In this program they looks like junior team. They need stop skate as two strangers.

Christina Carreira/Anthony Ponomarenko:My favorite american team today.

Evgenia Lopareva/Geoffrey Brissaud:They needed be behind Locia and Teo.

Maadison Chock/Evan Bates:They levels in live suprisingly were real, but they goes needed be lower.

Pair free was sad, except for the Canadians! Good on Japanese holding it together when it counted. Georgian pair needs far more experience -- I think staying in juniors extra year in hindsight was a good decision for them.

About television commentators, I have to confess that commentary rarely adds anything to my enjoyment of a skating competition, or subtracts anything from it. Be nice, find something encouraging to say about each performance, don't forget that the skaters, not the talking heads, are the stars of the show -- that's good enough for me.

I don't understand any American viewer who doesn't by now install VPN and stream from YouTube. Access to everything, can rewind during streams and no American commentators yapping non-stop. No commercials if your YouTube is premium.

I have done the VPN, but also if I just watch "some" of the replays on Peacock, I can get Tara & Johnny-free commentary.

Wow, SKAM seems to be shaping up as the Ugly Stepsister of the GP series this year (and we don't have a Cinderella!) doesn't it? People here and online don't like the programs, the KnC, the commentators (J&T are being roundly bashed), the stream and the price and the commercials, the scorebox, all but two or three performances, the music, the empty seats, the scoring, the medals... and the unironed flags even. And we're only halfway through.

(Have I missed anything? But at least no lotion bottles! )

Maybe the ladies - starting in 12 minutes - will bring back some sparkle...
