And it's their first event of the season. Some teams have had a chance to get feedback already. I think this will improve with time.Piper and Paul look expensive. They now have the highest RD score in this season’s GP.

I can't say I disagreeKaitlyn Weaver said that Paul is the best ice dancer in the world.

I agree—they are all seeming to struggle to come up with anything that satisfies all the requirements but is still enjoyable for them to do, and us to watchPossibly unpopular opinion
I really like all of these skaters and think the 90s music has brought out the worst in most of them
I hate that the camera work didn’t really capture Paul’s butt slap at the best angle.I was expecting/hoping for something truly outrageous but instead, found that kind of tepid really!
The dance looked messy and lacked sharpness. Zack’s loose jersey style might work for a show program, but it didn’t suit this short dance—it hid their posture instead of highlighting it. The Rhythm Dance rules this year make all the programs feel monotonous, with no tempo changes. This was one of my least favorite dances from them: not enough precision, simpler transitions, and a rushed feel. A disappointing step down from their usual standard.Well LaLa had the second best dance of the season for me. A bit messy in spots but loads of fun and incredibly fast.
Yup, they were headed solidly into second place, IMO.I’m still sad for LaLa!!
Could have placed really well if it wasn’t for that last mistake![]()
100% I agree, it felt longer than a free dance. I think that could be because a lot of those songs, while admittedly associated with sporting events, are typically songs that you associate with intermission or something like that lol. At least an hour local hockey games, it's some of the my numbing background music that gets played in between. Or whatever, so you just kind of get used to zoning it out. At least, I do8. RD: "Get Ready for This" by 2 Unlimited; "Are You Ready" by AC/DC; "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC; "Ole" by The Bouncing Souls, choreo by Romain Haguenauer
SqTwW4 + SqTwM4 (off-sync on the second set)
MiStW3 + MiStM3

ChRS1! (miss a grab, have to come out early of a choreo lift and drop the choreo, didn't get all of the requirements in)
RD: 75.95 (2nd)
that rhythm sequence error really did cost them getting into the 80s
The speed and flow in this rhythm dance was really remarkable, and they have such good knee action. I like the thematic idea of the program, but it's at the same tempo and energy throughout the whole program, which makes it feel kind of long and like it doesn't really have a build towards the end. I appreciate their enthusiasm in the rhythm sequence, but they clearly had some sort of mistiming during it and had a moment of looking confused and trying to figure out what to do. That cost them 7-8 points, which was really costly, especially considering how well they were doing with the other GOE and levels.
Yes, it’s really sad to think that that may have been the last RD P2 ever skate at Skate Canada International.Piper and Paul always give us something special, don't they?![]()
not true.Because she never lost to him
I didn't like the shirt but it's a hockey jersey and if he's going to wear it out, it should be more close fitting, IMO. Love her costume. I love them. I hope they get this program down. They will. The dance looked messy and lacked sharpness. Zack’s loose jersey style might work for a show program, but it didn’t suit this short dance—it hid their posture instead of highlighting it. I've wondered about that. Also reminds me of Scott Hamilton who would say "Don't sell the mistake."Yup, they were headed solidly into second place, IMO.
Kaitlin Weaver was absolutely right in her commentary that it really doesn't help if you look like the world is ending as you head to the kiss and cry. That's true for both LaLa and Carreira/Pon today. Yes you made a mistake, but still look like you had a good time for goodness sake. The judges are still coming up with their PCS. Bluff it out!
Honestly, the first thing I thought when I saw the dress, especially the cut with the weird bouncy fluffy butt 'flounce' think made me think she was trying to highlight the early 1990s women's costume StyleI'm finally getting a good look at Paul's outfit.
I'm assuming that's a corset?
