Minimums for individual segments is like the post above. For women it´s 90 TES in total, men 104, pairs 88 and and dance 94. It´s a total combined now, so it doesn´t matter if you have 30 in TES from SP as best, as long you have 90-30 = more then 60 in TES from a FS in women. This way you could advantage if you tend to have a higher SP TES or higher FS TES then in the old system. As en example, many women struggled with getting the 32 in SP, but had a higher TES in the FS than the 53 you needed.
Risa Gomez is one of the women that benefited from this rule. After last seasons she had lost them again because she needed to retain her 32 in TES in the SP. It was annoying because she got 31.85 at Worlds, and to achieve this she would have to have a flawless and clean SP in the upcoming season. In the FS she was way above the 53 that was required, she was almost 10 points above the needed with 62.08 from Nordics last season. But it didn´t matter in the old system, until the changed it and her total became 93.93, so she didn´t need to go into the new season chasing for the minimums again. However, they have raised the total with 5 points, and for those who were barely able to get past the 32 and 53 in SP and FS, it´s a challenge to try to add another 5 points in TES. One example is Josefin Taljegård, who had the battle last season with getting the 32 she needed for Worlds. At last she did it just in time before Worlds, and not only that, at Worlds she proved she was worthy passing that 32 mark in the SP in a competition where a lot of women weren´t able to. So she had the mins going out of the season, but lost them during off season. Now she is a total 2 points off, and needs to get a TES of 35.86 in the SP or 56.38 TES in the FS to get them. Honestly her best shot is the FS, without a triple triple it would be almost impossible to reach a higher TES in the SP. Hopefully she can make it at Euros or the next competitions, but it´s not as easy getting past 56 points in the FS when jumps isn´t your strongest feature. And the start on the season has been a bit rocky for her, her best TES in the FS so far has been only 47.87 at Swedish Nationals. She has been training in the US for the last couple of weeks though so fingers crossed it would improve her TES.
