They were on the rise and winning 4CCs only confirmed it, and there are a number of reasons for their rise: much improved packaging, Vadym being a phenomenal ice dancer to begin with and her starting to match him, Shpilband not losing his wink wink, etc.

I think it started when they beat Jeffrey Chen and his partner at US Nationals, which was not supposed to happen. Raised quite a few eyebrows. Winning 4CCs was for sure big.!
