These two are such exquisitely beautiful skaters and I feel lucky to have been able to watch them for so many years. It is truly sad they won't have an Olympic medal because they deserve one. They will be greatly missed.

They have a team one though.

The medal chance is gone for them, so I am fully on the Piper/Paul bandwagon.

Marco certainly was squirrelly again on the 2nd and 3rd twizzles. They embrace for a long time to end.

I'm kinda amazed thinking back to when they debuted this FD, people including myself were like "this is too weak for their final FD" and then at Euros they found the magic and kept it all the way to the Olympics. We will be missing your clean, sharp skating Charlene and Marco

People at that level are different. I witnessed it one time at work (don't want to say) but this person indicated metaphorically that they would literally die trying to accomplish a certain thing. They weren't joking.

I remember an athlete who was caught from doping. Her response to media was that her dream was to win the gold even if she then would drop dead on the finish.

I'm surprised there are no other Italian ice dancers here! They have some promising teams.

Ohhh. What a pity about the twizzles, but what a lovely retirement(?) skate from them. They obviously love skating and have had an excellent partnership for a very long time. I'll miss them.
